I watched Godzilla King of the monsters on my Sony A9F OLED and I didn’t think it was that dark? I mean it’s a dark movie to begin with, night scenes, overcast sky’s, caves and darkly lit facilities.
I’m curious how game of the thrones the long night episode will play out in Dolby Vision when it comes out? That was dark on HBO Now app!

I got my disc for John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum today from Vudu. If you thought JW2 was a gorgeous disc, this ups the ante in every way. Dan Lausten’s cinematography is even more lush in this installment. Demo disc for both video and audio. Also, it’s nice to have extras on the 4K disc.

TV. And even though I bought it through Vudu’s disc+digital a couple of weeks ago, I did not get a chance to watch the stream because of the hurricane. Watching the disc last night was my first time seeing it since my initial view in Dolby Cinema months ago. And it looks even better now.

For an opinion from a projector user, have you seen Ralph’s review? https://www.avsforum.com/forum/187-o...ay-review.html

I have #1 and #8 in UHD. Most of the movies are not in a highly colorful palette, but the differences in brightness and low light resolution were outstanding.

I wasn't able to see the deathly hallows #2 final battle as well with bluray, especially the beginning when what's his name is poised on the top of the hill and launches the attack.

His horde looked especially dark and murky in blu and were much better defined in the UHD version. It's touches like that and the final mano a mano between Harry and Valdemort with blazing wands that sold me.

I liked it, got two more UHD versions, so I'm nickel and diming it, but if you don't have it, I would do it if you're a fan.

Has anyone on here checked out the HDR/4k resolution on the dc universe streaming service? Anything worth checking out on there? I know it's very limited on hdr/4k on there but just wanted to see if it's worth checking out. Thanks for the help.

Yes, I had a subscription until Swamp Thing ended. I watched all their original shows and enjoyed them all to a certain extent. They are all in 4K HDR10 with 5.1 audio, depending on the device. Titans is like a CW DC show with better production values. The HDR isn’t great because it’s stylistically dark to match its tone. But whenever Starfire uses her powers, there’s some pop. Season 2 just started last week. Beware that they release episodes weekly. Swamp Thing was good until the end because they cancelled it and cut the season order. It was a super dark show. Young Justice continues to be great overall, but the HDR quality of their animation is only occasionally better than SDR. Doom Patrol is the only show I can recommend whole heartedly. It’s kind of like Netflix’s Umbrella Academy, but crazier, in a good way. It looks superb, meaning it’s not always dark. And it’s not grimdark like Titans. It’s a really fun show with great characters. Supposedly season 2 will also stream on HBO Max when it launches, so I see that as a vote of confidence as well. Then of course you can see some of their various animated movies in HDR. Quality varies. But HDR only ever stands out on them when a character has some sort of light or magic powers.
