December 3rd for GOT 8. I'm waiting for this as well for UHD.

October 22nd for the Daniel Craig Bond titles. I'm hoping my 4k Bond titles on iTunes add HDR to them.

Sweet thanks. I hope they do a great job with the 007s as 1,2 and 4 are grain heavy movies. Skyfall should look reference quailty just like the bluray. Will they have Atmos or DTS-X 😮

Ah, ok I misunderstood. I would prefer SDR on the older ones (Connery, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan). Those were all slow scanned and color timed by hand and I would worry HDR would mess those up.

VUDU has the disc+digital for Spiderman Far From Home available today.

I'll be posting the digital code once I get the disc.

According to early reports it does (listed on the BR forums as a disc that has DV).

I guess one positive coming from the Sony / Disney split. The other Spiderman looked real good in DV so I assume Sony will do it justice again.

I don't know why "MIB: International" has all the bad ratings? I thoroughly enjoyed this one when I watched it last night. It was full of action with some comedy thrown in. It was fun to watch and the 4k DV video quality was excellent in my opinion.

We shouldn't really be using this thread to discuss how good or bad a movie is, but rather focus on the PQ instead. Everybody will have differing opinions on the movies themselves anyway.

On a related note, I genuinely believe knowing as little as possible about a movie before seeing it improves the experience, and that especially goes for review scores. Imo, if you already plan to see something, they can only potentially harm the experience. You see a good review, you might expect too much. You see a bad review, you might focus on the negative too much. Etc. When it comes to movies, once I already know I'll watch something, I'll try to avoid as much about that movie as possible. Trailers, casting info, news, reviews, etc. Honestly, it's significantly improved my viewing experience since I started doing that, so I highly recommend it. Of course that stuff is useful if you aren't yet sure if you want to watch something, but once you're sure, imo anything else only potentially takes away from the experience.

I'm almost the complete opposite as knowing something about a movie usually doesn't affect how well I'm going to like it. In fact I like to know as much as I can about a movie before I see it so I'll go into detailed synopsis or I'll ask in these forums about it. I saw "Spiderman: Far From Home" in the theater before I saw "Avengers: Endgame" and it didn't affect how well I liked "Endgame" but to each his/her own I guess.

Is undone on amazon not in 4k HDR? Or is it another one of their originals where they don't release the UHD version until 5 days later? Amazons UI is frustrating to navigate. I'm finishing up Carnival Row right now, but its annoying that they seem to lag on releasing the UHD versions. I don't understand why they don't just have one version and just display the highest quality version your tv is capable of receiving. Maybe this is a bandwidth saver or something, but it isn't user friendly. Amazon is putting out some of the very best content with the worlds worst user interface.

It doesn't appear to be in 4k or HDR. That's not really surprising really considering it's hand drawn animation. That's not to say that hand drawn animation can't get an HDR grade since it happens, but they are less likely do to so.

No doubt the BD track already sounds great. But, for a new release these should have had immersive tracks. To me it's unacceptable especially when we mostly pay a premium price for the format.

Oh definitely... I will be super disappointed if these don't have upgraded tracks but have a feeling it'll be the old formats. Just dont have much hope in MGM.

Is it actually though? I sort of get the feeling it's a smart filter or something that simulates the look of a hand drawn image. Because there's sometimes too much detail and shading in there that I wouldn't imagine an actual hand animator to replicate for 8 episodes. I know it's supposedly traced over a live action image, but I'm still skeptical.

Well, they mention specifically about drawing over the live action.

They also say how many of the backgrounds are oil paintings.

It's a hybrid of a lot of techniques, but there are hand drawn elements in it.

It took me a while but I'm officially done with buying Disney/Marvel UHD Discs. The movies are never quite clean looking and always have to turn the volume up when watching any of their movies. They don't seem really sharp like other movies. The last Jedi looked the best of any of the recent discs.

The Disney Animated features are the only ones I'll buy disk based. Will go digital for future marvel releases.

Instead of lurching from buying everything on digital disc to buying nothing on digital disc, why not just wait for the reviews of each one and decide on a case by case basis? I don't understand the need to make a concrete decision now, in advance of unknown future releases.

The Disney Animated features are the only ones I'll buy disk based. Will go digital for future marvel releases.
