Hdr quality on the new Apple+ should be pretty good.

Flatpanels HD has measured the highest bitrate of any streaming site they have tested.

Yes it is on multiplayer and campaign. But it looks much better than the previous CoD.
From the HDR reviews they mentioned that it was one of the best, if not the best looking game with HDR. And from what I've seen, that was my thought as well.

I don't play many games multiplayer (because I have a massive backlog due to so many big open world games recently) so I'll probably just rent the new CoD on redbox for a day to do the campaign when I get the chance. Although i've heard the installation time is killer so prepare for that. Probably best to rent it just after midnight so you get that full day and most of the next. At least, I think that's how Redbox works.

COD has very impressive HDR but IMHO Gears 5 on XB1X looks just as good. COD looks more natural where Gears 5 has more stylized lighting. Also there’s 2 new maps in Battlefield V that also use HDR really well. Perhaps the best so far in a BF game.

Agreed......I've been playing this sporadically over a year now due to a lack of time and the game is huge!

Maybe they fixed it but when I played it had a lot of raised black levels. The only places where black actually got black was in caves IIRC. And yes I did calibrate the HDR settings. Highlights were good but there was banding. I kind of got the impression it was SDR converted to HDR.

Well it's been out over a year I think so plenty of time to fix stuff. I haven't noticed banding or black level issues on my E8. I didn't play it at release. So I dunno....

It is definitely real HDR and not a hack job like Red Dead 2, I recall reading something from the EvilBoris dude.

Um, no, most HDR is certainly not converted from SDR. Games especially, since games can natively render "above white", but most digital cinema cameras today also film far above what phones can do in terms of HDR. Now, whether the colorist works directly in HDR, or grades for SDR first, and later adjusts it for HDR is another issue. Nobody should be doing that, but yeah, we see that done far too much. However that's not the same thing as SDR-to-HDR, as you still have the high bit depth precision preserved.

When you set it to game mode HDR you can set the peak brightness, and when done correctly, I thought the HDR looked brilliant in that game. I didn't play it until after the patch. There's also "film mode" which looks like SDR and is stupid.

While I understand why you did due to the fact that the Apple TV thread was really getting bogged down with posts on how to subscribe or the intricacies of cancelling the free trial to avoid getting billed, I am sure we would all agree that the Master List of currently available 4k HDR titles would still be the thread to discuss actual content from the new service just like we currently do for Netflix, Amazon, and others, assuming of course it is 4K HDR.

For anyone interested free access to Apple TV+ is available for a variety of compatible Apple devices not just the Apple TV which includes iPads, iPhones. etcetera described in the following article...

How to get free access to Apple TV+

Note: I strongly encourage anyone who wants to take advantage of the offer that they read the above article carefully to avoid being billed after their trial is over. The 1-week trial can be cancelled at anytime before it ends and you will continue to receive content until the 7 days has lapsed whereas if you cancel the 1-year trial (offered to new owners) before the year is over then access to the Apple TV+ content will end immediately. Strange but true!

Agreed. The new thread is to discuss all aspects of ATV+, which includes hardware (not just Apple TV devices), sound quality etc. And since most of the ATV+ content is in 4K Dolby Vision it will likely be of interest to people on this thread.
