HDR & Fald Tvs

Hi guys i have a 75x940c Sony Fald TV.

When playing games in HDR (it says it at top of TV screen and the TV auto goes into HDE Video mode.

I notice that the Auto Local Dimming option is greyed out. Looking at black loading screens of games... i can see cloudy patches that are only visible when the auto dimming is turned off. Making me think maybe in HDR mode the TV does not use fald? But instead turns the entire screen on full brightness? Because i know for sure in SDR, full brightness with auto dimming theres ZERO cloudy patches even on low setting.

Its a real shame as the blacks in HDR look grey.

Does anyone know the definitive answer?

RESOLVED:
Hi guys i resolved the issue. The Fald was indeed not active. Must be a bug in the software.

I realized when i watched HDR on amazon and netfliks and noticed that in HDR, fald is certainly active. The blacks are not as deep as SDR because the screen is on max brightness, but theres no clouding in the black.

To resolve it i reset the picture settings and as if by magic Fald/Local dimming is now activated during HDR Gaming

Looks so much better now!

If true that would be the biggest joke ever.

You should try asking this question in Sony Thread.

I think I read that Samsung uses edge lit leds to do HDR , Mabey Sony does the same thing
