Apple TV 4k - Dolby Vision on HDR10 content.

I’m hoping that somebody has the expertise on this question that I have. Currently I have my ATV4 Video output locked in for Dolby Vision/60. I fired on a movie tonight and because iTunes/Vudu does not display which version of HDR it’s mastered in, it kicked in my curiosity. Sure enough I was able to find a website that had all the HDR format information for all iTunes titles, and sure enough the movie that I was playing was an HDR10 title. So that’s where my question resides. What exactly is happening when the ATV4 is set to Dolby Vision but is playing an HDR10 title? Is it completely inaccurate to the HDR10 mastering? Does it oddly ebough actually process accurate accurate? Is it double HDR (as in, conflicting with eachother and creating odd artifacts/color, if that makes any sense)? Before writing in, I changed my settings to Match Content - however, I do miss the seemlesss in/out content without black screening when converting to the matched HDR profile. If Dolby Vision processes HDR10 just fine, I’ll be happy to revert back to that locked in setting. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The recommended setting is to set Match Content to On so it matches framerate and dynamic-range of the source.

This will ensure you always get the best PQ. The ATV4K box should output the correct HDR format whether it is HDR10 or Dolby Vision.
