What are you doing at home now that you have to spend more time there?

Catch up on household tasks. Can't run out to the bar anymore. I was a remote worker before all of this but after about 3 days it used to be "I've got to do something, somewhere else", well.."somewhere else" is M.I.A. for the time being.

Check the C-19 thread in the +20k projector thread. Don’t ask this is just where it ended up. I am truly moved about the amount of kindness and togetherness on that thread Perhaps this should be a dedicated thread. Stay safe be kind and be well.

On a separate note, I am happy I have Verizon Fios, everybody in our family working from home, even though they have throttled our d/l 1Gb pipe approx 33%. I’m working in the HT room as my office.

Peace and blessings,

Azeke

Playing a lot of League of Legends, Street Fighter V and Call of Duty online. And in the evening watch a movie with my wife. Listen to music during the afternoon before lunch, while making lunch and while having lunch. I'm on vacation until weddings are back in season.

And this. It's only 2 of us at home right now. Too bad we could've used a few more on lockdown with us to make good use of all of these

I don't mind staying home, I have plenty of things to do. I spend a lot of time designing and build amps anyway. It's the work out that is very inconvenient, the gym closed and I don't have all the weight equipment. I have to improvise on things. I have to buy a 20 to 50lbs weight jacket to add weights to do push ups to substitute the bench press. It's very inconvenient to strap and unstrap. Have to remove the bottom seat of a chair with arm rest to use it to do dips. Have to buy a chin up bar to do pull up. Good thing is I always do aerobics at home, so at least that doesn't affect me. I started doing jogging outside the last two months, so that doesn't change.

It's more inconvenient than anything else. Stuffs that I bought will be useless as soon as I can go back to the gym, but don't know when that happen. I wonder for people that rely on the gym 100%, what are they going to do?

I don't mind staying home either, I'm retired.

1. Wake up.
2. Hi to wife.
3. Toilet, brush teeth, shave, shower.
4. Get dressed.
5. Pour coffee.
6. Let cat inspect both condo balconies, and hallway.
7. Fire up 'puter, check mail and COVID-19 results, make coupla posts at ASV.
8. Have breakfast-granola with fruit, toast.
9. Turn net radio jazz on.
10. Play classical CDs in another room.
11. Help plan spring planting.
12. Miscellaneous, includes staying safe.
13. Small lunch.

15. Dinner.
16. Evening HT movie(s), after a cursory surf of TV.
17. Brush teeth, toilet, OTC sleeping pill (so I'm oblivious to cat's zoom-zooming).

I'm one of those people. I already had a bench at home, but got rid of the weights years ago, so I ordered a dumbbell set last week and got it in 2 days. I'm a former hard-core bodybuilding type, so I know how to hit every upper body part with dumbbells and a bench, so not too much wasted money. Already have a LifeCycle at home that I never used. Now I will. That or longer walks with the dog. The bench has footholds on the end so I can do crunches. Or I can do planks. Bad legs, back and nerve damage only allow me to do leg extensions at the gym anymore, so partial sissy squats are going to have to be the substitute.

Thumbs up

Working 40-45 hours a week. Putting out groceries and home cleaning supplies. Most dangerous part of the job restocking toilet paper. Limit is 2 packs per customer. But some greedy people get around it. The wife buys 2, the husband 2, and a couple of kids buy 2. They then go to separate registers. Nothing you can do. Job keeps me busy as it supplements my Social Security. Don't mind being on the front line. Better than vegetating at home all day.

I so wish I have a bench, it's just will be a total waste of space as soon as the gym open. I do have the Powerblock adjustable dumb bell, been sitting there for years, now I am using it. I used the weighted jacket, I added 30lbs to do pushup. I actually use the Powerblock as push up stand so I can dip lower with the weighted jacket. Then I put the foot on a stool to do push up.

My leg exercise is limited to lunge with 35lbs Powerblocks in each hand and do 20 steps. And also double step up the stairs to the second floor 14 times. I need equipment for lower body in the gym, so it's very limited.

There's nothing good getting old, I have bad back and neck also. Sport and injuries goes hand in hand. If you don't have injuries, you are NOT working hard enough!!! It's like.....if it's not shoulder, it's knee, foot, back................. But that's the only way to keep nimble in old age. Have to pay the pipper one way or the other. At 67, I am not trying to build muscle or anything, just want to be healthy, can run around. I saw people not older than me on the cruise, some even used walker, walk slow.

We bought enough toilet paper a month or two ago. We are not too worry about food, we eat a lot of veggies, they never run out of that so far. I did stock up protein powder, that's good enough to survive. I eat to survive, as long as I get enough protein, I am good.

Two channel forum? What happened?
Let's talk about something other than the pandemic and personal workouts, diet and hygiene.

This should be a place to "get away" from that crap for awhile.

EDIT: Thanks to the mods that moved this thread from the 2 Channel forum to the appropriate forum.

I dunno? Maybe don't click on the thread? I could care less what are in the posts above this.
I see now there is a "Coronavirus Forum" here with multiple threads. I agree, have zero interest in reading about it here.

Charting again that is, I've read.

Considerations for the list: The Doors: When the Music's Over and, maybe, Five to One (Five to one, baby, One in five, . . .).

Not paying any penalty at all. Didn't apply till I was 66 and a half. At that point you can make as much as you want. Plus the SS check is bigger. Most people don't know about that requirement. I'm also debt free. I found a baseball cap that had a nice saying on it "Life Is Good".

Most recent fear is my mother-in-law. She, despite our advice, went to the hospital because she was having headaches (not a symptom of COVID-19). Unfortunately, she has COPD, so if she ends up with it, it is likely a death sentence for her. Which is why we told her to take a bloody asprin and stay home, because her chances of picking it up in a hospital are greater than staying the "f" at home! Well, she didn't listen, and we sure as heck aren't going up to visit her in the hospital, so...I hope she doesn't die alone .

Hey Rob,

I visited my sister who lives in Colorado Springs in 1997 for a niece's high school graduation.

While there I drove up Pikes Peak, figured it was an opportunity I shouldn't pass up. Also visited the Royal Gorge Bridge. Walked across is along the right side rail the back on the other side. along the way there was sign about someone bungee jumping from that location Then I drove across it on my way out of the park.

My brother Rob lives in Southern Oregon... They're 5 miles off I-5 up in the hills, probably a good location except for obtaining food.

My days here in Silicon Valley are pretty much the same as before the virus, except I can't go to the gym but do enjoy my walks.

Take care,

Working from home and so is my wife. Have to make a trip this evening to the local stereo shop (local business) to pick up a Marantz AV7705 (Support your local business).

We feel fortunate that both of our companies are equipped for working from home.

But overall we are good, healthy, we exercise and workout from home, glad we invested on some workout equipment since gyms are closed.

Yeh, good for you. I took it at 65. I did not know they raised to 66, but while I was there, I was thinking what if they raise to 67 when I turn 66!!!! So I said screw it, I took the penalty and took it at 65. I don't trust the government.

But it did affected my big boss's Medicare payment!!! We had to quit and told them I no longer working.

I so wish we have room to get some equipment for work out. We are actually thinking about adding an extra garage, not that we need it for car, but for my workshop. Right now, it's so tight it's not funny. With one extra garage, I can move my workshop, my kicking bags and add like two workout stations.
