I'm a few months from completion, but love to host something in the spring maybe. I'd love to check out other builds.

I'm in Alpharetta area. Also interested in ATL area meet up if anyone is hosting. (I will host some day... but my raw drywall isn't very impressive).

Started by build a few years ago... stopped... and now restarting and and wanting to go turbo mode (definitely by year end is the goal). Feeling overwhelmed with decisions and choices.

What does one do at one of these things? I've been to a lot of "GTGs" (get togethers) from forums with various common interests. Cars, motorcycles, guns...etc. But what do we do here...watch a movie? Doesn't seem terribly social, but I'm up for whatever.

I've been to a few AVS gtgs. Normally there's some libations, grub, shop talk, music and movie demo time and even some room and/or speaker/sub measuring. All of it is fun to me though too much time running sweeps can kill the vibe and get tedious and boring. I'm sure a pool table and ping pong table could elevate things to another level

I'm up for one. I live in Montgomery, AL but would drive over. Sadly i don't have one to show but would love to soak up ideas for when i eventually do have one. I rent now but am slowly building up my collection of gear for when I do buy.

In the area as well. Any of you guys demo local? Most of the places are gone outside BB. Found one but only ad B&W. Another was appointment only. I wouldn't mind listening to KEF before I make a final decision. Or any audio conferences, etc in the Southeast?

I'm in Jonesboro Georgia....south of Atlanta. It would be great for a group of us to get together and demo movie material thru different systems. I basically just completed my system but still doing tweaking from time to time.

Is there anybody in this group, or within reasonable driving distance of Charlotte, NC, that has one of the new JVC Projectors (RS1000/RS2000/RS3000), who also has the Panamorph Paladin DCR Lens?

I am considering the RS2000/DCR combination, and there are a few things I would like to check out in person.

So if you have this gear, and are up for a visit, please let me know (pm would be fine, or reply here).

Thanks!

Don

Check with @beastaudio . He’s waiting for a new jvc to show up and has a lens of some kind. He’s in Asheville

Appreciate the reply.

I've actually been in touch with him, and he now has the UH380 Anamorphic Lens from Panamorph. It is likely a good lens, but of a different design from the current Paladin, standard or DCR version. He's also waiting on the RS2000, which is the model I have my eye on as well.

There was a recent GTG using the RS2000 and DCR Lens in Colorado, yesterday, and I'm anxiously awaiting posts there from those in attendance concerning their observations.

BondDonBond GTG.

No posts on observations as yet, but everybody seemed to have had a good time.

I’m always interested in a gtg, but I seem to be the only one. Never seems to be much interest in here for some reason. I don’t have a HT yet though. Mostly done with demo, but now holding off due to a possible school redistricting and interstate project that could impact our desire to stay in the house.
