Yep me too. They were just so fun though. And the bass and mids were exceptional. But these are way easier on the ears. And everything blends better. Believe it or not the same speakers that I had are the ones that took top speakers of the year and top product of the year in Stereophile magazine. Maybe we needed to listen longer. Or maybe they were just way to big for my room. They had two 8" as opposed to the Paradigm having two 7". The new ones have two 6.5" woofers. The bass is still not as good as the Paradigms but I am sure I can squeeze more out of them when I bring rew into it. I have been fiddling with the placement but haven't had a lot of time with them yet. The Paradigms were placed optimally with rew. The Revels were just placed basically where the Paradigms were. Maybe that wasn't the best location for them? Who knows all I can say is these new ones look a lot better in my room. About the same tweeter height as the Paradigms were just not as deep and just maybe 1" narrower. But the shape of the cabinet and the color just goes so well in the room. Actually better than the blue Persona's. And my wife thinks they are amazing looking. And she thought the Paradigms were the best looking speakers she had ever seen up until now. She thinks they are really close in the looks department. One of the boys said the highs are really, really good. So this is looking pretty promising. They are definitely not as exciting sounding as the Persona's but over extended listening they are easier on the ears. And with proper seating position they are excellent sounding.
And the center channel is awesome looking. Check out the Revel c426be. It is stunning! Pricey also, but with my discount not that bad at all considering.
I can't wait for my amp to arrive. Tommy O at Digital Amp company gave me an awesome deal on one of the new 5 channel Cherry amps. He is building it now for me. And I just love the sound of those amps. Right now I am just using a midrange older Denon receiver on loan from a buddy of mine.
I still haven't decided on the processor. Probably the Emo XMC2. I love Dirac so that's the reason for that. Well and the fact that the Cherry amps are fully balanced on all channels. And the Emo is at least on the front three.
Subs maybe Rythmik after hearing Eddy Z's sub. And the fact I don't have a lot of room width wise probably just two 12's sealed of course.
Streamer/dac,: it is between the Brooklyn Bridge, after hearing the Brooklyn in Greggs system I actually liked it better than the Direct Stream Dac. Sotm SMS 200 ultra, which I owned and liked a lot. Just not as much functionality with the Sotm. And the Lumin D2, which according to personal reviews seems to be a really nice piece that won't break the bank.
I am keeping my OLED LG for the room. Not going with a projector.
