Well just ordered me another three home theater seats. I am in this for the long haul now. I ordered just three this time. Four across doesn't give me enough room. Then to build my risor and order some bolt on seats for the rear. They actually look pretty cool and my grandson loves playing with them.

Ok Ron, you know you gotta provide some details....... Make, model, etc.?

I can't wait for you to get your new DAC and put it through its paces. I more curious how it would sound vs the DAC in my P5!

Ok Octane Azure row of three. And the backs are Octane Matinee row of three all black. And I should get them about the time that my dac comes. Within 3 weeks. My wife needs her furniture back for the living room. And I will be extremely disappointed if this dac doesn't better the dac in your p5. I am hoping it bests Greg's Mytech. We will see. I paid for the hole enchilada. Hehe

Lol well I always loose. And yes I am very competitive unfortunately. Even at work, the side I am on, I always want to be done first. But I already know your Dac sounds good Gregg. I just want mine to sound a smidge better. If it's even possible. As you know I thought your Dac sounded better than my PS Audio Direct Stream Dac.

Yes we do learn from each other. The only problem is some of us don't realize it until it clubs em over the head. And let's guess who that is. Hehe Well to take all the guess work out it is none other than ME.

I definitely want the best sound I can afford, but know the only one I can compete with is myself. I'm kind of limited in this garage for what I can do. I like my Sierras, but their placement could be better as I heard at Eddy's house. I still enjoy my setup, but there are definite areas I can try to improve upon. Although I think I'll have the bass handled when my TV36 shows up. The question will be how soon will my wife either murder me, or divorce me...

I double quote agree gents.........I have a saying on the Video side of things "it's only video", so one have to ask themselves.....am I trying to convince myself it's the hobby that drives me or is it something that I think I'm missing other than sitting back an enjoying it with a less critical eye and ear.

I have read many accounts and I am guilty of it too. We get so caught up in tuning and perfecting our systems we can't just sit back and enjoy the music or film. There is always "something more." Maybe being 60 now is part of it but I'm off that merry go round. For the first time in 20+ years, I don't subscribe to any HiFi magazines.

And also your system is already pretty perfected. So that's probably another reason. When I get to that point I am sure I will quit. At least I hope I do. I still will keep looking for another matching sub. But until then I am good.

I was guilty of that as well, though I was always limited to a small budget so I had to carefully plan each purchase.

I had the fortune of stumbling upon Ascend Acoustics in the early 2000's and, while I did "upgrade" my speakers it has all been in the Ascend family. The biggest leap was going from their original CBM-170 bookshelf to the original Sierra-1. Those were actually the most I'd ever paid for a pair of speakers. I've been following the upgrades over the years that Dave at Ascend introduces which add up to a few bucks, but I'm still ahead of the curve when it comes to saving money. With my current Sierra-2EX upgrade paired with my Rythmik sub I am really content. Are there better speakers out there? For sure, but for far more cost than I've spent or have the ability to spend, and at those prices I would not see a proportionate return on investment.

I still think of "upgrading" on the electronics/front end side of things, but again, lack of spending power keeps me planted on Earth. (As does my wife!)

Thanks but I'd say we are neck and neck as far as system sound goes. That SOTM streamer is awfully nice but I'm resisting the temptation. It's time to just sit back, relax and enjoy. Plus, I do need to retire some day and don't want to be eating out of a dog bowl...

Lol that's funny. And my streamer is back up and running, finally. The cap replacement went as previously planned. Without a problem. Getting the first one out however was extremely difficult. So now I have a much better cap in that position and a new power cord from the power supply to the streamer. And it did seem to make a difference. At least in my mind it did. And that's all that counts.
