The ad says add 3% for PayPal fees, does that sound about right? that's crazy I found the exact set of white covered speakers I wanted cuz they're kind of rare in that color. The seller is in Colorado and has the original boxes also has good reviews even for packaging. This one feels good

Yes 3% is the going rate for PayPal. You could try to negotiate it. But you could also lose the sale.

Ron, I just realized you have a Panny 820. Do you ever use it to stream? Mine loses connection a lot. I can watch a couple of episodes of something, and then I have try to get internet again by restarting or going to the main menu. Frustating. So much so I bought a Roku.

And if you guys haven't seen 1917 yet, it was really good.

I Never Stream with the 820 George. I use my LG Oled built in apps. Now if I could get ARC to work I would be thrilled.
I can't wait to see 1917. Looks very good.

Ron, nice "Budget" system you have there!! Hehehe!

You don't mess around when you put a system together. Love it!

Ward, glad my "tip" paid off, er, made you pay! Looks like you found a great deal.

George, I have apps in my Sony TV & 4K Bluray player, but I usually use my Apple TV 4K to stream Netflix, Prime, etc. if only because I can't figure out how to get the audio to go through the sound system.
Maybe that's the ARC function that no one can get to work?

My biggest issue with ARC was my TV started to control everything even when I didn't want it to. The Roku is fine, but it shares the HDMI input that my computer uses right now so a lot of flip flopping. I only use basic apps, so the Panny would be great if it didn't kick me off the internet out of nowhere.

I need to reorganize my stuff and maybe add some receptacles so I can plug everything in. I have enough HDMI inputs, but my room is still a mess.

Tony, nice will power! 🙂

Ok Ron, now that you've had a little time with the new DAC what is the verdict? Is it a keeper?

We will have lot's to do. It will be fun.
Let's all be safe and make it through this.

Whew! There's a lot more amps in the $1300 - $2300 range than I expected! I am leaning heavily towards a class D w/ ICE module topology, and not being an audiophile I'm less interested in a pure, linear reproduction than I am with getting a tone I really like. Given that I drilled down to see what was different in this market and found the input ckt design dictates overall tonality and I really like the descriptions I'm reading in regard to W4S newer ST-500 MKII series. I wish it wasn't so ugly looking but in this price range youse takes what you can get. I believe this is where the term butter face came from Wish me luck
This review seems to generalize all the reviews regarding the characteristics: http://www.positive-feedback.com/Iss...yred4sound.htm

I just took this baby ( Arcam FMJ A22 with DAC ) in on a trade.....wow what a nice unit. I was a little push back on silver units, but not bad looking.

Nice integrated amp! Arcam makes some nice equipment.

Ok, I have a problem to solve so I'm throwing this out to the group:

The lone window in my listening room has the grills between the glass. When strong bass or specific frequencies are present the glass will flex and vibrate against that internal grill. It can be very distracting.
I 've been trying to think of a solution to eliminate that rattling. My only idea right now would be to build a rectangular frame that would fit on the outside of the trim on the wall. I would fill the frame with some of the Rockwool I have leftover from my corner traps to act as an acoustical barrier. I'd either cover the front of the frame with more fabric or just use 1/8"-1/4" hardboard sheet. The frame would fit over the outer edge of the trim pieces and attach to the top piece somehow that would allow easy removal.

Hope that makes sense. If anyone has ideas please let'em loose!

I like the Arcam sound, plus this is a older model.....when audio companies made their best equipment, and the mind set was to try to match the tube like sound.

I built those almost 20 years ago, no BBC dip, very neutral and fast. They have what works like a very high order cross over to deal with bad harmonics just outside the pass band but still maintains a very benign phase curve.

Wow that was quick delivery. I would someday love to hear your DIY speakers.
And is your amp coming today also? If so that was extremely fast on both counts

Could someone care to comment on this amp for sale.
Nevermind. I've come to the conclusion I need to audition some amps before I buy anything better. Just like guitar amps, I have a sound I hear in my head that I need to find out in the real world. Plus, I want to have funds for a new 4K pj later this year. Having heard the emotiva 300w amp driving these maggies I can say it's a solid 'ok' amp & definite upgrade over the denon internals. It's a soid build, clean power, fairly neutral presentation, & mediocre imaging which is livable for another year or two. I think my best $$ option for now is to get the emotiva 5 ch amp for $1600 which can later be used for C,LS,RS,LRS,RRS speakers and move the 300w amp to sub duty as intended.

There's room for ALL of God's creatures...right next to the mashed potatoes!
