OOOPS!

Sorry, I was incorrect about The Screening Room winning a JVC Dealer of the Year Award, they do not have one. They were JBL Synthesis Dealer of the Year in 2017 and Revel Dealer of the Year in 2018.

I stand corrected. My apologies to all.

Wow, was just notified about this thread. Thanks to all who dropped in to say nice things about us!

Yes, we will let the world know when it is time to have @Kris Deering out to help us run our projector shootout. Our whole approach is to level the playing field when doing comparative events like this so we cannot be accused of bias. Kris helps keep us honest! Same thing with our speaker shootouts - we take the time to make sure all speakers are volume and position matched, and hidden from view so neither the listeners or the person conducting the test knows which speaker is playing at any given time.

@rg4471 - thank you too for your comments! Actually, we are listed on JVC's site for Colorado Springs, right at the top:

http://pro.jvc.com/prof/dealerlookup...&zipcode=80921

Thanks again everyone!

That is weird John. Your link clearly shows you're there and one other Denver location. When I looked, I only saw Home Run Electronics in COS, the rest were ListenUP COS, Magnolia Design Ctr, Lone Tree, Logic Integration, Centennial, Denver Audio Designs, Centennial, and Theater Works of Colorado, Centennial. There were a few others farther north that I cannot remember. It seems that JVC's site can steer you wrong in this search. UPDATE..........I think I figured it out.....it appears to be the difference between JVC and JVC Pro sites.

Wow - I think there are a lot of people in the Colorado "Front Range Area" - North to South that would be interested in a HT meetup. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen any Denver/Ft. Collins/Co. Sprgs. HT "Groups," per se. Maybe we could coordinate something with John & Kris that is in the greater Denver area, as well? How about a limo tour of multiple HT setups? :>) Or - a block of hotel rooms and a free meeting room where John and Kris can show their stuff. (Always thinkin, Butch.)

Kris - do you have a website where folks can sign-up for calibrations, depending on the state you are visiting? You know - - something like "Elvis will be in town the week of .... and if you'd like to schedule a calibration, please follow the link...." (Of course, if you do not get enough sign-ups to make it worth your while - - you could always post a message like "Elvis came down with a cold and will be unable to appear in ...., the week of ...)

Home Theater Setup
SONY 75X900F & 49X900E, BenQ W1080ST, Denon X5200 & Emotiva XPA-3
AudioSource 100VS, OPPO 103 & Samsung K8500, 9.1.4 Setup - Speakers - Studio 60's,
V.2 (FL/FR), CC-690 (C), V.5, ADP 590 V.5 (SS), MilleniaOne 2.0 (BS) - Velodyne 810 Sub,
Cornered Audio (FH/RH), Definitive Technology (Front Wides)

Yup - we do primarily the RS series JVC projectors, so that's technically part of the "Pro" lineup. Thanks for checking!

We will be holding educational events at our Colorado Springs location from time to time - speaker and projector shootouts, seminars and the like. We have a nice big meeting room to hold all of these. These are never sales events - they are always educational and fun (hence Kris's involvement). Back in 2016 we did a seminar with Kris, Gregg Loewen from THX, Chris Deutsch from JVC, and Robert Keeler from Stewart - everything from immersive audio to projector and screen technologies, plus my favorite topic - all the incredible research Drs. Toole and Olive have done correlating speaker measured performance with listener preference (also the focus of much of my writing here on the Forum). The shootout will be the next event along these lines.

The new JVC PJs are now hitting the U.S. and being delivered. I ended up driving through a snow storm getting this thing home. They are indeed being checked by JVC USA QC dept. My RS3000 has been resealed w packaging tape indicating this. My order has been in since the week of CEDIA. I plan on opening this up after lunch and begin setup.

It sounds like I should get my RS2000 in the next week or so.

I am willing to have a showing party on Feb 24th 1:00-4:00

I am located around the I25 and Erie exit which is between Hwy 52 and Hwy 7

I will PM my address after I have verified people Can't be too safe. If you are interested please let me know.

My thoughts are for timing below.

1:00-2:00 we would do setup/calibration and QBF test patterns. I have Calman, Spider 5 and the I2Pro meters. By no means an expert or even mid level so if you are that is awesome!

2:00-4:00 we can do real world content. I have an Oppo 203 and a Pani 820 so we can play with tone mapping etc.

I have an Xbox 1 if you want to try out gaming.

I am getting a DCR lens also, however not sure it will be here by then.

See my signature for my equipment list I have in my theater as well as screen.

I think 8-10 people is the max that we can do for this.

If you are interested let me know.....I guess we should have some wine and beer since this thing has been 4 months on order

Sorry but the date is not going to change. We are accountants and this is tax season and this just get crazier every day so we won't come up for air until May.

Just an update on the timing of the day for the 24th.

It does look like I will have my DCR lens by that date. So, in the beginning we will do everything with it off so people can see without it and then the last 60-90 minutes we will put it on and see what the difference is so you can see it.

Greetings, we are two weeks away from our meetup at our house. Getting excited to have delivery of my RS2000 on Tue this week. It will be nice to see everyone we see on the forum.

Here is the current question. Please let us know what you would like to see. I know Toe has some testing he wants during our testing time but if you have something lets get that here and then we can get a list and I will keep track of it.

Also please post if there is a section of a movie you want to check out. I have a lot of 4K movies but if you have something you want let us know and I will let you know if you need to bring your disk.

I have ATV and Netflix etc. to test as well as the oppo and pani 820.

See my sig for what I have for equipment and you will see if you want.

Now if you are looking at coming to see a real pretty theater you will not see that. As you will see from posts above I am in testing of what I want and have redone it multiple times and this summer may be again. But it is a good environment and I am sure you will be fine with it

Please PM me your handle, name and address with phone number and then before the event and all is cool I will send you my address.

I think we will have a good time so again looking forward to it.
