Plenty of time to schedule a night to drink good beer in a fine and welcoming establishment... with bad parking.

Just keep talkin'. I'll let you know when you're right.

Well, I blew that, didn't I. All that talk about advanced planning and I was running my kids around and picking up Homecoming stuff that night.

My bad.

Just keep talkin'. I'll let you know when you're right.

I'll subscribe. I think we should meet at someone's house so we can see their system. Just a thought. I'm just getting into the build stage. I mean I have equipment. Just no walls. We basically have the poor mans theater right now. But I'd love to find like minded folks in the area.

That's wasn't flying... That was falling with style!

I would love to meet up with this group, I live in Warrenton Missouri.
I typically post on the Klipsch community so I don't have a lot of posts here. My daughter lives in Newtown. I'm in the process of building my HT as well. Currently have RF-7ii 7.1 setup with SVS PB12 ultra/2 sub. Working on getting three more. Don't come across very many though, got a p.m. from an AVS member that he may have two for sale soon. Crossing fingers and toes!

Is anybody going to the "Music Matters" event Thursday night at The Sound Room in Chesterfield? Its quite a drive for me but they are going to have some very interesting gear there. And I can go watch "The Martian" after the event...

Wow, pretty dead here. Anybody interested in trying to organize a meetup? Might have a good location in Clayton that could be available.

Did anybody get to see the Sony 5000ES at the Sound Room a couple weeks ago? For that matter, does anybody have a display running with the 5000ES?

Hi,

Have there been any recent meetups in the St. Louis area? I would be happy to host, but my theater is still a work in progress.

I subscribed to this thread in 2012 .. to my knowledge, there has never been any get together unless it was privately planned .. I'd still be in if there was a definite plan .. I live in the Metro East

There were numerous gatherings, including at KPLR-TV over the years. At least 2-3 at people's homes in the mid-2000s. I think there was a different thread at one point.

I subscribed, currently working on finishing the rest of the basement. Then it's time to start the HT, would love to get in on a GTG before actually starting the HT.

Doesn't seem to be a lot of traffic on here for the STL area. Not sure how we could drive traffic to this thread to get people involved.

I have an idea, but the traffic in this thread is too low. Need a better way to get the word out to at least 15-20 people that would be interested for it to be worthwhile.

Well, you could put your idea here and see how much interest you get .. and folks on the thread could always help spread the word .. no reason we could not invite other folks we may know outside of AVS as well ..

Why don't you guys kickstart some group activities by visiting KC for the upcoming theater crawl. A few of you carpool down and do some planning/coordinating for future St. Louis events along the way. When you do something like this at a future date a few of the KC guys will head your way.

I think this is a great idea. You guys seem to be very active and with a little kickstart I think St. Louis could be just as involved...

Hi Matt,

I am in the Waterloo IL area, I am interested in a STL meet up. My theater is in the process of getting finished but should be getting finished in the next 3-4 months.

I just got my hotel reservations for the KC Crawl mentioned a few posts up. I'm going to gauge St. Louis area participation in that event and then decide if there is enough interest to attempt to facilitate anything in this area. I've got a couple of options I'm looking at, one much simpler than the other.

If anyone is interested in the KC Crawl (Feb. 17-19) they have a block of rooms for $109, but the deadline is Jan. 24 I believe (you can cancel up to that Friday I think). Thanks @Archaea for promoting it in this thread. Is anybody else going?

BTW, here is an old active (at the time) thread from a previous meet. I don't see hardly anybody from the old threads posting recently here. I know @John Kotches had a nice setup in Troy, IL, but the last meet I know of at his house was probably close to 9 years ago...if you made it to Troy, its "only" about another 45 minutes to my place.

Others that I think hosted or offered to host at one time or another (not putting them on the spot or anything): @dochlywd , @dcbingaman

Another "industry" guy that posted a lot previously in meet threads: @bpape

There really are quite a few in the industry or pros that travel all around in the StL area, would be nice to get them involved somehow.
