@andersa also got some huge upgrades recently and he lives by me, maybe we can talk him into a rotation where one group demos over there and the other over here.

I would love to see/hear the upgrades. I may have to buy your rs45 if you still have it too. Does @desertdome have a build thread for this mega-theater?

I haven't started a build thread yet. I need to do so soon. Rough dimensions are 18' 9" wide, 28' 11.25" long, 10' 8" high.

Footings for theater two feet deeper than the rest of the basement:

Foundation for the theater (dirt was dug out later):

Basement poured, walk out basement wall finished, TJI joists and decking installed

Post & Beam frame started to be erected yesterday (7/30/2018).

Wow, that’s going to be awesome! Are you going IB subs again?

Thanks! No, I'll most likely be having some JTR Speakers Captivator S2 subwoofers. The IB subs take up a lot of space for a room like this. I want a system that can be installed in just a few days from the built out shell and that takes up a minimum amount of room space.

That is one heck of a space DD. It'll hold three of my HT's, with room to spare

I haven't been around since catching a ride to The Savoy's grand unveiling with @desertdome and @nebrunner , but would love to join in on future get togethers if there's space. Can't believe how much progress everyone has made to their theaters since then, and can't wait to see how this new dedicated theater will turn out!

Does anybody in the Omaha area have a resource for OC703 locally that sells to consumers? I’m ready to start covering my walls and need to build some panels.

I had zero luck tracking down a local source of OC703 when I tried a few years ago (ended up paying obscene shipping costs to order online). These days, it looks like Rockwool SAFE'n'SOUND is readily available if you're entertaining alternatives.

Got mine at Allied Insulation....14770 Ray Sapp Dr, Omaha, NE 68138, (402) 895-4115.

If they don't have it in stock....usually only takes a few days to get it.

Cheers

Second, you should definitely take some pics of what you've done so far and tell us about the project. You may even want to start a thread. If it ends up looking anything like your pics plenty of people will be interested in seeing how it came about.

Lastly, when should we expect the christening?
Finally got a build thread going... I'll try to keep updating it. Not much progress lately, busy with family life. Somehow I do find time to revisit and tweak my Sketchup designs.
