Here's the start. Knocked myself out moving subs from soffit. That's not blood. That's brusing within 3 seconds.

So, I guess the plans for my movie night this weekend are for 8:00 Saturday. I think I'll be renting the 4K (Thanks Family Video) Assassin's Creed to get the Atmos, unless people would prefer to watch something else? I do have La La Land from Netflix currently.

So far, I think only @Archaea and @jedimastergrant have expressed intentions to attend. Unless I missed anyone?

The Hodor Theater - Now with Atmos
Projector - JVC D-ILA NX7/Panasonic PT-AE8000U; Receiver - Yamaha Adventage A3050
LCR speakers - JTR Noesis 228 HT (3); Surr./Back - Klipsch Pro Cinema KPT-8000M (4)
Atmos In-ceiling - Niles DS8HD (4); Subs - Passive JTR Captivator Pro (2)

I'm going to the Garth concert that night with the wife. Yee-haw. (I'm actually looking forward to it even though I'm not much of a country music fan - sounds like he's a hell of an entertainer.)

After reading some of the reviews I'm afraid I would really like this thing!

However, my current budget buster is this for the screened porch.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008UHXUSO...WBE2F5SS&psc=1

I've read reviews that say it will in fact work in higher humidity as long as it's outside. If it doesn't work well I'll return it. I better wait a month or so to buy it though to make sure I get some very hot/humid days.

I think you guys need some medical grade bass equipment.

Some of our horrific COPD patients use systems like these.

Crazy I know. I was there a couple weeks ago and was browsing and saw the 4K version of Passengers, so I called up shortly after and asked if they had the 4K for Assassin's Creed and they assured me they did.

Family video isn't going anywhere. It's crazy. As for who will buy the first vest? I see Doug buying a kevlar vest and cherry bombs this 4th of July. Somehow syncing the fuses with bass I love you.

This is amazing news. I won't believe it until you have it in your hands though. If this is true then it's a game changer for sure. Did they give you any indication about a mark up for 4K rentals? Will you be going in Saturday to rent the movie?

They do rent quite a few 4k discs. I rent them up here from time to time but I usually rent a bunch of movies at once so I can't remember the price. Plus I spring for the $10/month for 50% off rentals.

I keep confusing my intentions with my abilities.

I actually picked it up tonight since I had a free rental laying around from when I got pizza last month. Price seems to be the same as any other, and free still works if it's old enough. I only saw maybe 5 or 6 titles that had 4K (I didn't look much past P though). I saw Fantastic Beasts, Hidden Figures, La La Land, Passengers, and Assassin's Creed.

I would like to come, but we have a busy day packed with my sons actives and I think I will be toast by 6 pm. Two soccer games, baseball practice and a birthday party for an 8 year old friend. I am just hoping to be able to watch a movie at home on Saturday.

I do want to see a movie in your theater. It was fun sitting in the back row when you were playing the clip from Deep Horizon and I thought there was a sun in the riser from all the bass.

Anybody know any decent structural engineers around KC?

I'm hoping to have someone give me a little peace of mind relating to double drywall for the ceiling in the theater weight-wise. I reached out to one random firm I found that did residential work, and it looked like it would be $425 minimum to have them out. Das pricey to me.

Thanks!
