If I'm still standing at 10, I will meet up with you guys for the movie. I have been tearing out the main wall in my living room today and am just getting the 14' support put together. I'm pooped!

AMC Prime is the best theater experience I've had yet. Excellent!

Luke Kamp, stitch1 and his wife and I tinkered around with the iNuke amp tonight for some discussion in the 2012 meet thread then hit up the Hobbit Pt 2. The movie was excellent. The theater excellent, the tactile transducers excellent, the Atmos sound excellent, the screen excellent. The whole experience was outstanding. How that place makes money enough to have a theater like that I don't understand. I've been to three Atmos shows now, and there have not been more than about 20 people in any of them.

I agree though. I don't know how that make any money on a setup like that. Especially, the fact that they redid the theater since last year. I took some pictures of the speakers, not sure how good they look but I'll post some tomorrow. The seats are awesome with the shakers. The bass is great for a theater of its size. I was impressed last year but with the transducers it just puts it all over the top, awesome. I really wish it was closer but I would be willing to see just about any movie there over the regular theaters.

A few more things then I'll go to bed. Smog has to be the best dragon I've seen in a movie this far. The new Godzilla movie looks pretty good and I'm pretty sure we had the best seats in the house.

Sounds like a good time. Wish I could have made it. I might have to make the trek up there with my wife to see it.

I am a huge Benedict Cumberbatch fan so I expected him to take the character of Smaug to the next level. If any of you have neglected to watch the excellent Sherlock series from BBC you should do so. Interestingly it also stars Martin Freeman as Watson opposite Benedict's Holmes.

I was all excited about the new AMC Prime theater experience today and telling my co-workers and KCNitro07 (a co-worker) asked if I was getting a kickback from AMC or something because of my enthusiasm.

No, I just like to share about stuff I enjoy!

Any of you guys have experience setting up an insteon isy99 or iRule? I will be working on that Thursday and Saturday. Family coming into town this wekend and I would like to have it up and running by then. I am sure an experienced person could shave hours off the whole process versus me fumbling around with it.

I have the Insteon isy99 something or other with a global cache and an iPad for iRule.

I just use houselinc at the moment so can't really help with that but could answer some general questions. I bought Indigo for my new project and currently configuring that now. There is a forum on Smarthome.com that gets some traffic so may be somewhat useful. Feel free to PM me with questions and I'll do what I can to help. But like I said I have no experience with the ISY.

AMC PRIME has Guitammer seat transducers move the action from the screen to your recliner. I was wondering what type of transducers they used.

https://www.amctheatres.com/amc-prime

That experience was so good, if I could get away with it from the wife's vantage - I would go again tonight.

I really enjoyed the show and theater last night. They have 48 surround speaker, with the ceilings 20 surrounds the same qsc's, and the wall surrounds the jbl cbt series. The largest side surrounds having 12 vertical 5" drivers (another 70JE-1 on the bottom).
http://www.jblpro.com/catalog/general/Product.aspx?PId=419&MId=2

The mains appeared to be some form of the new high powered screen array's, but with more bass drivers than two shown here.
http://www.jblpro.com/catalog/general/ProductFamily.aspx?FId=91&MId=1

It was hard to tell peaking behind screen what exactly the mains and amount of subs up front were, they did have 6 subs in the rear of theater which I believe have dual 18" in each. Thinking back on it two were there before, and now they added 4 more, so I am guessing they moved the rest of the old subwoofers that were up front to the rear in upgraded soundsystem and put a new set of subs up front!

They also have passive acoustic wall treatment which appeared to be 3" thick on walls.

It appeared to have a lot of distortion free output and I was loving it.

The seats are very nice with seperate electric adjustments for back recliner and feet, and I like the shakers, but probably would have liked them dialed back just a tad more.

The new screen is curved and angled up, but when reclining can't tell much. This seems to give a more uniform picture to all seats, and the picture was very nice. They also have dividers between the rows with ~ 9" tall glass at top keeping feet from heads and reducing noise leak between guests.

Overall probably the best cinema experience I have had out of the home. Enjoyed the second Hobbit installment and the new updates to the theater were well implemented.cool.gif

I made a thread about it here.

https://www.avsforum.com/t/1506209/amc-prime-theaters-dolby-atmos-guitammer-seat-transducers-reclining-electronic-leather-seats

It's a bit of a comedown - because I've honestly felt like I've preferred my own current home theater over any commerical theater I've ever visited. But the surround sound tech with Dolby Atmos, the transducers use, the leather electric seats, the screen quality, the scale, the room treatments, the red lighting decor, just the overall experience of the AMC Prime outclasses my home theater experience, unlike anything else commerically I have experienced.

I was really hoping to make it to the show, and now it looks like I will completely miss watching it there if Anchorman is moving in so soon. I planned to get the G-horns in to the ceiling by now, but I'm looking at another week on that too. I promise to give your Speaker Hoist back to you soon Archaea!

Make every effort to get over there for a nice action movie - even if it's not this one.

As to the hoist, I don't need that back anytime soon man. Take your time.

Anyone want to go again (or for the first time)? I may go Saturday morning at 10:45 am, but am still working out the schedule with my wife. She doesn't want to see it that much so it would just be me and my son.

hey Jon, something isn't right because I did post it in our google group, and I know it at least went out to one guy because kcnitro07 replied to me directly from the e-mail broadcast subscription saying he couldn't go, and his reply forwarded the original broadcast.

I see your name in there as having joined December 10th, so that was fine on timing. You may have to check your junk filter or something. Did any of the rest of you who are signed up for the google group get the e-mail?

How does next Sunday the 29th work for a demo at my place? We could do 1 pm or 8pm working around the chiefs game and my kids bedtime. I know it works for a few folks already but we can choose another day if there are too many conflicts although I expect there is not a day that works for everyone.
