Alright, so we have:

Nick +3
Dlynch
ambesolman
dgage
Coach
NWCGrad
TMcG
Robert Jones II
24 Changer
Mfusick (potentially)

So around 12 attendees. I can still manage to have a few more spots, however space in the theater itself will lend itself to people possibly needing to switch out and enjoy the stereo upstairs. Having been to several and hosting another event with about the same size, there is always people that like to chill out and converse while others hit up the listening and everyone kind of mills in and out so I think we are in good shape.

Which of the three Days Inn is the one to get? Marriott's are stupid expensive that weekend.

Nick is apparently bringing two...Are they actually coming TO the g2g or are they going to play around town while we all geek out on speakers?

Not sure about any festivities as of yet.

I'm sure they won't want to stay at the g2g. Prob just long enough to make sure there are no strippers, and they will likely go into town.

First beer at say around 10-11? We can do later if folks need some additional time to get there. Likely David and a few guys will be there with me early to setup and such, but we could start with the real content and stuff around that time. Any suggestions on what people want to see/hear/experience throughout the day?

I'd like at least three eargasms a day. I'll bring my own Qtips.

Honestly, the dropcam allows for 720p video, two-way chat, and you can control the lens up to 130 degree viewing. It likely would be the best option

I'm surprised there isn't a feature like that built into facebook that allows groups, kinda like Skype. Seems like it would make sense for them to develop that.

There was a web page for Andrew's GTG right? (on FB)

I guess some of the others coming in on Sat need to chime in on ETAs...... Ahem cough, cough... @TMcG et al.

I think it would be interesting for folks to bring maybe three of their own demo(music) tracks. That would give a frame of reference with material they are familiar with(just thinking out loud). We could even compile and share, kinda a G2G soundtrack if you will, what you think?

What are your playback capabilities? What would be the best way to achieve this? Thumb drives, discs, other?

I have the scuba steve BR demo but never uncompressed and burnt it, I could bring that if there was interest?

We could also vote on any movie demo scenes that people wanted to hear and have folks bring the media.....

Movie suggestions:

Inception: Dunk scene and sidewalk scenes
WOTW: Pods Emerge
Flight of the Phoenix: Plane flip scene

I have quite a bit covered from demo material standpoint, and last g2g we actually used spotify to stream the music into the system, where people made suggestions and we ran those tracks in sequence. I am 100% cool with creating some type of g2g disc as I already have TWO from previous Rilla meets. We can certainly use those as options for playback too as most of the files are High-Rez and really cover all aspects and genres of music. Some of my favorite demo material which I own are:

Art of Flight
Metallica Through the Never BD concert disc
Dave Matthews/Tim Reynolds @ radio city concert disc
Eagles Farewell Tour BD concert disc
suba steve/super leo/ultimate bass demo discs
oblivion
Tron
(now) Edge of Tomorrow

Music:
previous g2g discs and my library of music basically all over the place, some rock, dubstep, rap, and pretty much anything else we can find.

That's a pretty solid list right there^ I liked and would choose many of those.

The DVD-audio of Metallica's Black album is a winner. Master and Commander cannon shots too.

Spotify ?? Da fuq ? Isn't that compressed MP3 ? You need some high resolution stuff (24bit) to get the proper dynamics a system like yours will do.

On side note, you guys need anything at all just PM me. My media server is 50TB (I'm about to expand it lol) so chances are if it's good, I got it. I can drop into dropbox and shoot over a link, or do a sync rather easily if you need an ISO or a track or movie or whatever. I don't mind sharing or letting my friends "borrow" something. Interesting concept.. borrowing digitally.

I got one at the Dolby event at CEDIA, so I can bring it with me. I understand from dlbeck it won't play through JRiver or some of the media server devices, but the physical disc should play just fine.

The g2g CDs are primarily high res, but if you get spotify premium, it certainly streams some higher bitrate stuff, much better than mp3 imo, not the same as pandora. I know a couple guys that have the capability to burn a disc and/or create playlists of good high res material but I am not one of them. I have some lossless stuff, but not a lot, and as such, is why I typically move towards the g2g tracklists that I already have on disc.

I was thinking of shooting for between 10-11 assuming that gives everyone enough time to get up here If you need more time, we can move it to noonish I guess, and perhaps all do lunch at my house to chat and get to know each other before we fire everything up. I know some will be chomping at the bit to get in some good material too though.
