ENG-399 is dropping out for an injury - tore his ACL over the Holiday. Mike sent me the text message a moment ago with the bad news. I'm sorry to hear that mike. First post updated again.
That's it - nobody else can back out without approval from the planning committee.
In all seriousness guys - we expect this type of thing after doing these a few times -- I figured only about 80% of the commits would make it --- things come up - I understand. Get well, Get through whatever it is, and we'll catch you on the flip side.
Back down to 41. (we were up at nearly 50 at one point).
About 50 is our agreed upon attendance cap.
I've mentioned this briefly before, but the format changed a bit at the initial big host planning session in December. We are doing three groups - but making sure people can spend more time together. Everybody will be together Friday night for the movie, and possibly a hosts house (cvinfig) , everybody will be together at Doug's house (d_c) for some smoked BBQ over a two hour lunch on Saturday, and everybody will be together at Derek's house (stoked21) on Saturday night. Each group will see eight home theaters on Saturday.
On Sunday - we'll be probably doing a few events you can chose from at different hosts --- still working on those plans with the hosts. At this point probably
1) a sighted subwoofer shootout, or maybe speaker auditions too?
2) a blind amplifier test
3) Possibly a smaller home theater tour arrangement with a few alternate houses opened up by locals not otherwise officially on the big Saturday tour.
4) Likely an O'Malley's Irish Pub run on Sunday night.
5) Perhaps some people heading to Des Moines to see dlbecks place?!.
On Monday - for anyone still left - more fun. a mix up of options based on what was not yet done. Perhaps even just including a long lunch run of say the four best places in KC for BBQ, where those interested can go and grab a half sandwich from each place and learn for yourself why KC is way up on there on the places to visit if you love good BBQ.
