No, they didn't come with the stands. Those are just something I had available to get things up and running. They sound awesome. I have a very large room and finally feel I have something that fills it with a great soundstage. Well worth driving all day to get them!

Subs are Hsu VTF-3 MK5 HPs.

Awesome. They look similar to the Rythmiks. How large is your room?

Thanks to all of the other hosts. It was also nice to meet so many other home theater enthusiasts.

I echo the earlier comments about everyone's systems. It was a great experience to hear a variety of systems in one day and appreciate all the great things about each person's system.

Luke - your kids are angels. As I was leaving, they were quietly watching a show on TV as the whole house was thumping around them. They were so very nice to me and one of your boys even showed me a split open door frame from your bass adventures. I had to laugh! Great kids!

Thanks everyone for a great day!

Thank you to all the hosts last weekend and Luke for organizing! It was a great time meeting meeting some new enthusiasts, and seeing some familiar faces.

Each setup had several unique and impressive aspects that I came away learning a lot from. Once again, the bass at Luke's place was nothing short of a religious experience

Thanks again everyone!! and I look forward to the next one already

A big thanks to Mike, Arshad, Rich, and Luke for letting us into your homes on Saturday.

I had a blast and learned a ton.

I broke out the tape measure on Saturday night and started figuring out where I can put a few DIY subs because of you guys.

Expect some questions in the coming days and/or weeks.

Thanks again.

Good times, thanks for organizing @lukeamdman - was nice to meet everyone and @zorax2 and @lukeamdman to see / hear / feel your theaters.

@zorax2 that was the first home Atmos setup I've heard. Certainly a consideration now for myself. Luke says your theater has come a long way this year. Keep it up!

@lukeamdman - good to finally hear your setup and it lived up to expectations. Dom and I spent a good bit of time on the drive home thinking of ways you could fit more subs in there

Fun times all around.

Well that was a lot of fun, glad I set aside the time to come.

Next time I will have mine done so will be able to host!

This was my first time hearing atmos. Really was a very cool experience. I'll have to do impressions later, but one thing that really stuck out to me was Arshad's room, it was tuned very very well. All the levels of the surrounds really were spot on and timing perfect. I really love ribbon tweeters too so the music was enjoyable to say the least!

We had a great turn out this year so thanks to all the attendees! If no one shows up it's a bust...just ask @stormwind13 about our first GTG... We had maybe 2-3 people show over the coarse of the entire day.

I definitely want to do one of these crawls annually, and it's certainly not limited to this time of year either. Even with the size of group we had this year, we'll probably have to divide into groups next time. That's a little harder to coordinate, but it's a better experience because people won't have to sit on the floor and do the musical chair routine.

We already have some sweet setups/updates in the works for the next one:

@Rowan611 is building 1299s for his LCR, and he's probably going to build them big and port to 30-35hz so they're full range. No subs needed for music. He's also been talking about walling off his theater area and adding TWO more THTs!
@stormwind13 has dual F20 subs
@primetimeguy now has 1099s for his LCR
@whoiswes has 1099s and quad 18s in the works
@zorax2 has mentioned adding two more PSA S3600i subs for a total of (8) 18" drivers

I may have just purchased some Crowsons last night...

And the list goes on. That's just would I could think of off the top of my head!

That got the SPL at over 150db (peak) for the first time ever!

Mike had just left prior to this, and I received a text saying he could hear the bass from where he was parked down the street
It had to be Rage Against The Machine - Bombtrack. I'm listening to that again and the bass drum kick is ridiculous.

I'll offer that my place could be a stop on a future crawl sometime down the road.

What the family room setup has that's different from others is the very live space. It's about 400 sq ft over a tuckunder garage with hardwood floors and four in-ceiling channels. None of the other aspects will compete with some of the other setups, but it can produce a nice live concert effect, especially if I moved the JBL 590s from my office out there to replace the PSA MT110s as mains. The room could accommodate at least 8 comfortably seated guests with lots of standing room.

Bass is adequate from a PSA T18HT but will not make you text your mom before the cops show up.

The mildly acoustically treated 7.1 office is much better for music but has a sweet spot that's seriously about 2 cubic feet. A few people could mess around in there for a while.

I could also demo some 4k HDR material, which we did not see on the last crawl. It's only 65" but like my wife says it's not just about the payload but also the impact.

They're basically open invite yes. Keep an eye open on this section of the forum for new threads. Most will open a thread at least a month in advance of an event.

If anyone is interested in hearing a Marantz 8802 vs. Denon AVR-X4200 A/B comparison - please PM me. I'll have the 8802 for another week. I'm also happy to hook up whatever device you have to compare to either of these two.

The KC crew is planning their next event but that probably won't happen until 2019. They've asked if we have anything planned so I figure this would be a good time to get the conversation started.

I definitely want to demo my new ported subs so at the minimum I'll be hosting a GTG this year, but I'm really hoping we can do another crawl since there are some really excellent home theaters in this area! Who's in?!?!

As for timing, once summer rolls around peoples schedules get crazy busy, so I'm wondering if we should shoot for March or April? Thoughts?

EDIT: I have plans for the last weekend in April and the first weekend is a holiday weekend, so I'm thinking either the weekend of the 14th or 21st.

March was already looking kind of crazy so I'm thinking April. April would also be much less of a chance of severe weather getting in the way.

I have plans for the last weekend in April and the first weekend is a holiday weekend, so I'm thinking either the weekend of the 14th or 21st.

I'm down. If people want to hear mine I'm up for it, as piddly as it is. But let's be real, is anyone really gonna wanna hear anything but Luke's? Seems a waste to do a crawl when 1 house beats them all.

I disagree. Yes, Luke’s system is impossible to top. But, last time it was nice to see and hear some different theaters. I think getting at least 5 other people to show off their theater would be awesome. That’s possibly in a days time.

Steve has 893 and 18s this year. Boss has 1299s, Wes’s has 1099s...who knows what else has changed since the last time.
