I don't have plex knowledge, but know HTPC's well and Nvidia Shield Media Box.

I run MKV's directly through my OPPO 203 so no Plex is required.

Thanks. I spent a lot of time reading through the build threads, trying to plan things out as much as possible before the build started. I kinda wish that we would have made it 21 feet wide, but it looked like it would be plenty wide on paper.

The wife did a really good job painting the room. It is completely dark in there with the door closed. I'm curious to see how it will look with the projector running.

Hope you Wisconsin boys don't mind an Iowan following along. I've hosted a couple of HT Crawls myself and currently building my third room. I head to Madison, WI from time to time for work (used to spends a few weeks each month there). I've always wondered where or if there was a Wisconsin thread.

Anyways, great looking rooms. Hope to meet each of you sometime!

Also you have had three Theater rooms!!!! Very nice.

Really digging the rock wall in Theater #2 . Was there any negative side effects to doing that?

Thanks! I've been very lucky to have a dedicated space for watching movies and a very understanding wife who has allowed me to sink a ton of money into these rooms and hobby.

No negative impact from the rock wall. I took some quick room measurements before and after. I saw no real difference. the very minor differences I did see I attributed to some other rooms changes I made between measurements. I think of all my rooms and builds the rock wall is what most people have talked about. So I am using the same sort of element in my current build. Gotta give the people what they like.

That makes two group members have been Home Theater of the Month winners? That's pretty impressive for our little ol' state.

Great company for a meetup group.

Hi all, glad to see a dedicated Wisconsin section. I am all about dolby atmos/DTSX and bass.My system is in flux as I decide what direction to take. Currently own a marrantz 8802a, and have considered upgrading to the marrantz 8805 or Trinnov Altitude. I own 12 very potent subs, and currently have seaton cats for mains and macki speakers for surrounds. Am looking to get a full set of speakers in the same brand, and I am considering options. I also have the epson 4k laser projector and a 13.25 foot wide seymour screen.

Welcome pennynike1!!!!

I do believe you take the gold medal for bass output of this group if not most of AVS by far! You should show the group your wall of Power!!! I think its one of the most over the top setups ever! One of the few systems where this gif becomes true!

Also I noticed you are potentially selling some of your gear like the Seatons, Maratnz, and Epson projector. So if anyone in this group is possibly looking for well care for gear from a local seller, pennymike1, is a reputable person to work with.

Yes, from the listening position in open space. I would likely need to seal that room to get to closer to my goal of 150 db.

Nice use of the space. I just bought that same rug a few months ago. Also appreciate seeing another member who's held on to the LD player.

To get a better look at how much sub power pennynike1 has... here is a shot of behind the main speakers: You can see 5 in the stack in the back and the other 3 Othorns scattered around the room.

And finally when I told him he still had some space above his subs we took this picture!

For anyone looking for that extra authentic feel to their own Home Theater you can create amazing looking movie tickets using our very own meyer64's TicketMaker!

I made some tickets for a few co-workers tonight. I will use this often so I donated $10 and the watermark at top will be removed when I print going forward. It was never obtrusive to begin with, but this is a great service to someone like me! Thanks again meyer64! Fantastic work!

Thanks Scott,

There is big LD community on FB that helped out a lot with getting newer discs. It's insane some peoples setups. I just wish there was a cheaper/better way to get them to play of the big screen. I'm using a converter box which is not the greatest.

Is that backlighting behind a projection screen or a TV?

If projection screen, what material and does the screen itself take a hue of th backlight when they are turned on?

It is a 106" screen. There are rope LEDs around the perimeter of the screen. I haven't had any bleed through regardless of color I have it on. It's an SI screen, I'm not sure on model. It is not AT I know that. If you have any questions feel free to ask!!
