Changed everything but the speakers and GIK bass traps. I felt like the tv was effecting the sound stage depth so I went with a Seymour Neo AT screen. Upgraded amps and dac. Maraschinos to Mageschinos and Dac Dac to Dac Dac 2. Decided to use my HTPC in the 2 channel system so that I can do Hi-Res and room correction and route LFE to the mains, and have a highpass filter. Just need to purchase Dirac Live and start trying it with HTPC and JRiver.

Even changed the equipment stand. The VTI looked nice and is reasonably prices.

Almost exactly a year since Jeff kicked off our first Wisconsin GTG, nice.

Nicki and I have had a great time at both of Jeff's get togethers, so this date is circled for us (if we can bring our significant others). The last one was really nice, even if we never got to the movie portion; the time just flew by that day like nothing.

Exactly.
One could say that @SOWK @Jeff Permanian & @desertdome are an axis of evil -- both bass and in general.
I've had the same subwoofer for 15 years and been happy and no complaints from any neighbors that come over for HT viewing.
But listening to the same Avengers movie has me thinking.
Realistically no updates unless I were to build a whole new HT in a new house. But fun to think about.

Great. Good to know.
I meant rooms for us normal visitors, but good to lock in exhibitor rooms as well for the same reasons I presume.
If I can make it next year I'll ask you if I can bring anything [like wine/beer to go with the pizza] if the same GTG happens.

This is too cool, I would be great to meet some forum folks in person to mention. I've had the chance to chat w/ some neat and helpful folks and putting names to face would be superb. I'd love to throw my name out but I have a graduation that weekend. Maybe next year.

Thanks for the compliment. It’s was a fun DIY build for me and I enjoy the theater everyday. Maybe I’ll host an event down the road. 🙂

In an attempt to avoid any spoilers, Nicki and I went to see Avengers - Endgame last night.

It completely reinforced the value of our modest, and still unfinished (but useable) home theater. At home we are not distracted by: Parents bringing a crying newborn baby to an 11:00 PM showing, random laughter at inappropriate moments, constant getting up to go to the lobby, loud rustling of candy wrappers during quite dialog scenes, comical snoring during a pivotal scene, a guy shouting expletives at the end of the movie, zero bass to speak of, a projection screen with obvious flaws and inadequate black-levels, etc.

It's just too bad that we have to wait three to four months to see these movies at home. But that still better than the old days, when it sometimes took years just for a stereo videotape that we could watch on our 30" TV.

Sorry to hear the experience was not all it should be. The movie is worthy of being on most anyone's top favorites list. "Big spoiler", Scott Lange almost eats a taco! (a few friends were had with that one). I went Saturday at 12 PM, which appears to be when most of the older fans that couldn't make it out earlier went.

Our local theater was recently bought out and I think they started upgrading equipment. The projector was much brighter than I remember, though I think the uniformity could be better. Bass could actually be felt, which was surprising for being very close to the back and that is not how it was before. Though I would prefer my HT + bar any day of the week

Love meeting new people with gear I never heard about! Thats what makes these GTG’s awesome!
I had some of the first Power Sound Audio MTM-210's and MT-110's in my Texas Home Theater. I still have (2) XS-30's, subs in my WI Home Theater. Their products are great!!!

Tom V, Power Sound Audio Owner, was the "V" in SVS.
