Nice! I got a lead on a 144" screen but it apparently sold before I had a chance to snag it. It's not the 160" that I'm looking for but for $130 it would have been hard to pass up.

Progress was made over the weekend with the help of my fiance, following some hiccups with finding reliable 13 foot boards. Ended up having to get thicker wood, which meant rebuying all new lumber. Since I am wall to wall, plan is to put hinges on the top of the screen so the screen can swing up and I can access behind there.

The number of hours involved to make this all work is staggering, but the payoff is worth it in the end. Close to the finish line

The GTG will be starting at 12 with demos scenes and conversation, for probably around one (depends on when everyone is hungry) and then we'll end with a movie starting around 230. We'll play it by ear on the start time of the movie in case we want to start it a little later.

Looking good Alex!

Watched How To Train Your Dragon 3 over the weekend with my wife. I sat in the front row for some of it to really see how the colors popped, especially when they are where the dragons are born. It looked pretty good. Looked better when I turned the lights off behind the screen. I think for my next screen I might do a scope screen, go wall to wall, and have it hinge up so I can access behind there. Basically how that previous guy said it. Lol

Getting idea's from the group is a huge reason to do GTG's and participate in the meet threads! So absolutely borrow some ideas when you can.

Also, While lights behind the screen are a cool feature when showing off the room, I would suggest turning it off during an actual movie unless you have black velvet on the ceiling, floor, side walls, front wall to absorb the light bounce. As it will likely affect the color on the screen otherwise.

I made some more progress on our theater and watched Incredibles 2 with my family this weekend. I took some pictures of it's current state before the movie. Still have a lot to do, but I think my next steps are to drywall the side wall (next to the equipment rack), build a front stage and frame out the screen. I've been trying to avoid the drywall, but I think it's time. lol

I hope all of the dads out there had a great father's day!

Thanks! It's a Sanus 27u rack that Holly found on Facebook marketplace for a great price. It's my first rack so I learned a lot. It was pretty intimidating mounting my A51. 80+ pounds and cantilevered with only four screws. I still don't believe that it works that way. Crazy to think about.

Does this rack have rear rack rails? I got a middle atlantic tray that attaches to the front and rear rails for my amp. Makes for a more supported setup.

This might be the one.

So..... apparently I can only post 30 images per post... LOL

I will have to find another method to showcase everyone's theaters.

Does that count using imgur then inserting those links as pictures?

The only other idea is making front and back pictures for each theater one image. That would give you some wiggle room.

Maybe start a new thread, reserve the first five posts and include a link? Otherwise you can take mine off. I'll have better pics soon anyhow.

The movie really did look good, and there was some really good sound design in it, too. The power of the whooshing dragon wings was really well done. One of the best mixes of the year so far.
