Thank you.

The diffusers on the back wall are a extremely interesting design! Self made design or professionally designed and made?

Also those bass corner traps look incredible too!
The diffuser/absorber on the back wall was self made, however I had design help by a friend in Austin, TX, who is an acoustical pro.

There are substantial bass traps in all four corners, the 2 in the front are huge due to the room being trapezoidal.

Thanks SOWK for linking this thread to me! I was in some of the other thread SOWK started, but missed this one somehow. I recently moved into a new house and unfortunately there are a large number of other projects in the house that are taking priority over the theater but always enjoy seeing other people's theaters and would be interested in going to a GTG in the future.

My current setup / somewhat boxed up setup is:
- Denon X4000 Receiver
- Paradigm Studio 60 + Paradigm Studio cc-590 LCRs
- 2x SVS PB200s
- Sony HW40es projector
- 110" Seymour Ambient Visionaire 1.3 screen

Here is the album of pictures I had when it was setup at my previous apartment: http://imgur.com/a/WEab5

Denon X4000 | Paradigm Studio 60s | Paradigm Studio CC-590 | Dual SVS PB-2000s | Sony VPL-HW40es | 110" Seymour Ambient Visionnaire 1.3 | Intel NUC i5 HTPC

Looks like a great setup once you have time to setup.

That broken magnet sure was a surprise to stumble across.

Nerd Alert!

Off topic, but I know that there's at least one other comic book geek in our group. I just heard an ad on the radio this evening for the Milwaukee Comic Con that's happening at the Wisconsin center this weekend.

They don't have a huge number of guests, and tickets are kind of pricy, but some might be interested in attending.

Welcome @swargolet ! It's awesome to see another Paradigm Studio V5 owner in the group. The Rosewood looks beautiful!

Seems like I have settled on July 13th as the date.

Lets see if we can get some new faces to meet!

I have a few people confirmed (I think) so far so I'll start building a list. I live in an apartment, so I don't have a ton of space, but I think I can do about 7 including me, but we can see what the interest is.
  1. SOWK
  2. SteveFred
  3. Rad
  4. Holly
  5. ?
  6. ?

The timing is great now as I just finished upgrading my system. I have made lots of changes.

Changes
  • JVC NX5 Projector (now running 4K HDR plus new wiring for 4K60Hz and new HTPC GPU)
  • New projector mounting system and partial fan noise dampening
  • Polk Ceiling Atmos speakers
  • ADX Maximus Bass Shakers
  • New DIY screen
  • DIY removable screen masking panels for 2.40:1 content
  • Lots of new and additional triple black velvet on the ceiling and walls
  • Dark black carpet
  • Patio door blackout curtain system for 100% light control in the room

In addition, as some of you might remember I have a cool Linux mass storage server that runs my fully redundant video storage and houses my Windows HTPC in a virtual machine all in the same machine.

I also have a new, custom, (built from scratch by myself) full home theater control app that controls everything through IP from any device with a web browser, all from a single screen interface.

I can also always hook up my HTC Vive VR if anyone has never had the opportunity to try out VR gaming in the home.

Anyways, here are the new pictures of my system now after all the upgrades.

Reminder!

Please let us know if you can make it July 13th!

@SOWK I'll talk with the SO when she gets home tonight. Sussex is very close to me so I should be able to stop by for at least a little bit. Unsure on the SO as this is one of my hobbies that she sort of just tolerates, but I'll still ask.

If there's room, Nicki and I would like to attend, depending on the time. My company picnic that day, also.

Absolutely Scott, I would love to have you guys over. Feel free to bring yourselves and stay as you see fit

I am not sure exactly what time I will be having people yet, but I am open to suggestions as I have no real restrictions myself.

I have been lurking here from over the border in Chicagoland. I might have to try to attend this G2G.

Very nice room and nice Monster Bash @SteveFred . Is it a remake or original?

Sure, let me know if you can make it! I grew up in kenosha

Its a remake, LE. Just got it a few weeks ago. I had an original Addams Family and sold it in 1999 for $1800. If only I would have know what the value would have turn into now haha

Nice!
I have an original Monster that I restored a few years back. Should have sold before the remakes as its value has dropped now.

Yeah we all wish we knew where the prices would have gone. Would have bought more or held on to sell longer. Oh well its not about the value as much as the fun of the games.

Wish HT equipment held its value as much as pinball does!

Unfortunately, I'm scheduled to go to the Renaissance Fair that day.

However, if it's a scorcher or a rain-out that day, Nicki and I would love to attend your GTG instead. Your room size is very similar to mine, so I'm eager to compare.

July is a "no" for me. My son is home from Japan, but August might work. I really look forward to start seeing some of these fabulous Home Theatres .

I also need some ideas to start concealing my speakers as well as acoustical treatments.
