For anyone else interested in a BOSS build, the JBL 12" drivers are on sale at Best Buy again right now for just $30.

Yes, I bought three. No, I do not have time to work on them. Yes, it is a sickness.

Can you post a link please?! I tried looking yesterday when someone mentioned they were 30$, but I could only find them “on sale” for 60$

Never mind. I searched again and they were 30$ this time. I swear they were 60$ yesterday. Oh well. I ordered 3 and they should be here Tuesday! I ordered wire and connectors from amazon last week so I have all those. I really just need to grab a piece of ply. I’ll probably do that tonight or Monday before the weather hits Tuesday. I’m going to hook them to my current iNuke for now to make sure I like them. Once I know that, I’ll order another iNuke. Maybe when I get that it will force me to organize my rack and wiring.

Hmmm, I see a newly-listed Marantz for sale in the classified section. I wonder what that could mean. . .

Did anyone else get the Axpona email? It's a great place to meet other forum members and JTR usually has an awesome demo room.

Thinking about it; I can always return them if I don’t decide to do it.

How many drivers should I purchase for use on a 3-seat home theater recliner setup?

There's no set rule, and it depends on your configuration. I'd say most guys go with one driver per chair, but it will depend on how you mount them (chair mount, riser mount, platform mount).

The thread is contained inside of a room build thread, and you can start reading about it here:

The Hideaway Theater

Lot's of other guys have been contributing variations to the original design, so you'll find all kinds of options.

Scott

P.S. I bought four more, so I've got one per seat now. Now, if I could just find the time to work on it.

I hear you on that one. No time! Plus I think I need to re-brace my subs thanks to interesting noises at 20hz.

10hz test tone? No problem. 30hz test tone? Bring it on. 20hz, annoying noises at any volume level. I shouldn't have just used glue, my fault, at least the boxes are big enough that I can fit inside.

Get heavy handed with some PL3X, that stuff turns into concrete. Great gap filling ability and a lot of time to work with it before it sets. Getting use to the application with a glue gun is the tricky part.

That's the stuff I used, and I was very heavy handed. That stuff is no joke.

I would try pulling the driver out of one of the subs then play the 20Hz tone on the neighboring sub. It might give away the culprit without too much hassle since it does it at low volumes that might work.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Hope you were able to set aside some time for the important things, like getting some great deals on Blu-rays, 4K movies, and new gear.

Just kidding, family is what today is all about, and being thankful for the great bounty we have been provided with. Most of us have been truly blessed, and our theaters and this community are a small testament to that.

I was totally planning on it, then I realized yesterday it's the same day as my company's holiday party that I kind of have to go to. I'm still considering it though. Probably a bad idea, since the party's at 7 and in Chicagoland, but still, decisions decisions...
