Yep, agree, working shows wear ya out

The subjectivist audiophile group vs the HT group, but you knew what I meant.

So anyway, that's where I'm coming from.

Have you had a chance to hear the Magnepan 30.7? Audio Consultants has a demo pair now which sounds pretty special. They'll be having an "Axpona after party" on Friday with Mark Winey from Magnepan and others attending. As someone who's never heard the old Tympanis I've been wondering how people feel about them vs the 30.7.

Do you happen to know what time this is happening?

I'd be going anyway, but that's one big reason. I was one of the first with Maggies back when ARC's Bill Johnson was the distributor in 1970 or 71. Had seven or eight pairs over the years including the really big Tympani IIIBs https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=...53895510397729

I'm also curious about their brand new LRSs that just started shipping. For $650 pr. it gives folks a taste of dipoles, and whether they can get 'em to work in their room as they must be several feet out into the room. Also, lets one know if the wifie will really make good on that threat to divorce. My first wife was serious.

Axpona After Hours Party
Audio Consultants
Friday, April 12, 6:00pm - 9:00pm
There's some more details on their website and facebook page.

For what it's worth, the 30.7s aren't just there for the show, they're Audio Consultants' long term demo pair. They'll be waiting for those who can't make it this time

Btw, this event is at their Evanston store a few blocks from the lake. So it's a 20 mile+/- across Chicago during rush hour from Axpona.

The 30.7 aren't going to be at the show because Wendell couldn't get a large enough room.

As much as I'd like to hear the 30.7s I'll think I'll take a pass on that drive.

Nice. I need to try something other than Photobucket, which is down so much that I can just about count on it doing the same for at least one of the days at AXPONA.

Should we do avs name/handle tags again? Might make sense for when we are all stumbling around the conference center to see fellow AVS people. And to alert vendors that "We are one of those guys"

I wore that AVS shirt last year that I think could be misinterpreted as AV Science. I didn't get any feedback, negative or otherwise. Is it safe to do this again?

I think it's fairly safe that this says AVS Forum, but the art work is a bit like AV Science. What do you think?

And it would be just for Friday as I'm going to try to get most of my reviews done before it gets busy, Saturday is way too jammed to do much of this.
