No dice, they finally put up showtimes, and Jurassic World is moving into that auditorium on Friday. I may try to run out tomorrow, but I'm not sure if I'll have time.

That thing is still making money? Damn. I'm sure there will be other DTS:X theatrical titles that our local group can check out in the future (hopefully ones that are rating better than 47% on Rotten Tomatoes).

Advance tickets for The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials have been up on the AMC Burbank 16 Prime Theater webpage for about two weeks now. But, every time I try to purchase advanced tickets for Saturday 9/19 at 4:40 PM, it skips the seat selection page and goes directly to general admission checkout. I contacted the theater and was told they didn't know why the system wouldn't accept seating requests and that reserved seats may not be available until after the 17th.

I usually by my advanced tickets as soon as they are available to get the seats that I like. Rather than wait until the day before and fight the crowds, I thought about going the following Saturday 9/26 at 4:40 PM and trying to get an AVS Get Together started. Does anyone know the correct info on when reserve seating tickets will be available? Are any of you interested in an AVS GTG to see the Scorch Trials in the Dolby Prime Theater?

Dolby Cinema theater, i.e. Prime, and The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials is not yet listed on the official AMC website:

https://www.amctheatres.com/movie-th...amc-burbank-16

You will have to wait until it is.

I thought this was the AMC Burbank 16 Prime Theater webpage. It links directly from the AMC Burbank main webpage and has a link to purchase tickets for both Out of Compton and The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials.

The link to Compton leads to the theater seating chart, while the link to Maze Runner leads to General Admission.

Thanks Sanjay! It was a fun experience, and I got to be the guinea pig for the new video format - I expect many lucrative endorsement and movie/TV offers to start rolling in as a result!

Brad,

Congrats on being selected for HTOM. The video was great to see, as it really gave me a great understanding of your layout. You've heard it a million times before.....but I'm going to say it anyways....beautiful theater / great job!

This is really cool. I'd like to experience your theater again, especially since I live about a mile away (hint, hint). The fact that you did so much yourself is very impressive.

I hope the music is left out of future videos.

You're welcome any time, just give me a heads up to check the schedule - we might want to wait until the heat wave passes though, since I still haven't gotten to installing an AC unit - in fact our house AC died, have an AC repairman at the house today looking at it - maybe I'll hit him up for an estimate for a Split AC in the theater while he's here.

Crongrats on your AVS Featured Theater award. The video really helped, I hope Scott continues the new format.

I very much like to come hear your setup. Please net us know when it is convenient (and cooler) for a GTG Demo

If you are local to our office and wish to attend please send me a private message here on AVS.

We will have the entire Debut Series line (Not sure if I will have a pair of Atmos Modules) here to listen to as well as a sneak preview of some of the other products we are working on.

We will have to limit the number of people attending but I will address this based on the response we get.

Thanks,

More Beatles in 5.1 coming:

Giles Martin (son of original Beatles mixer George Martin) will be doing the surround mixes, as he did for the Beatles' Love album.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm a HUGE fan of multichannel audio. But I feel like I'm a dying breed. Nice to see new stuff being released in high resolution multi-channel format.

On another note, I was talking to a shop owner who claims SAE is coming back. He claims Morris is gonna start building it from from the ATI factory. Is there any truth to this??? As a kid, I always drooled over the SAE equipment back in the 70's and 80's.

Hey guys. New movie coming out in Atmos and HDR. Who wants to see The Martian with me?

Since it's in HDR and Atmos, I figured the boring ol' AMC Prime Burbank 16 again. I don't know where else it will be, for sure, in both HDR and Atmos.

Next weekend on Saturday October 3rd or Sunday the 4th. What do you say?

Sweet! So should we shoot for a Sunday showing then? @sdurani @asarose247 does it work for you guys as well?

I'm open afaik for either day. Usually we see these in the morning but I could do an early afternoon probably.

I'll have to double check whether my father wants to join me for this trip or not too. But let me know. Always fun catching these with my friends in LA.
