Third reason: any IMAX theatre that adds laser projection also adds their 12-channel (7.1.5) immersive audio system.

Hi Guys, I know this is a long shot, but I'm looking for 2 Elite C1-M seats and can't afford new ones at this time even at a discount. If you know anybody selling them please PM me. Thanks.

Just bought my IMAX 3D ticket (seat K14) for Sunday the 17th at 11:45am. I think only one other seat was taken.

I bought the Benq TK800, and got it running. Nothing permanent or to be proud of - on a shaky unmounted crappy shelf unit - a Denon just unwrapped from a repair on a refurb - projecting on a Swiss Coffee wall (no wall defects showing - woo hoo). So far, no sound (even from the projector), but my DISH joey and Amazon Fire are showing. I need another 4k BR player.

Now for the quick first "huh" and step one...given I had about 10 minutes of play time before care giving called...At first things seemed full screen then seem to be a smaller screen within the full projector field. Hmmm. Some channels from the DISH Joey were flashing fairly regularly - like 15-30 second intervals. No sound, many other buttons were grayed out.

BUT, at moments when things were not being noticed - a great image given the near zero attention it got. AND... we found a ton of miles on my wife's credit card - which translated to $700 in Amazon credit. She told me to keep it. Nice, I something a bit above MonoPrice $150 speakers. LOL. Or a new BR player - spare me the server advice (for today), lol.

I'm not sure I will be up to speed before I have to pack and move it, but I FINALLY can tell myself I got a theater. I mean I have a sub - isn't that half the sound?

Oh...wish I could join you all for the show - but alas no time yet, enjoy!

Have not checked this thread in a while, is it still heavily off topic? making it hard to actually follow when meets are actually taking place because of all the non-topic related thread notifications that occur in this thread because of way too much side chatter? From looking at the last 10 pages of it still seems to be the general case which is a shame because I did enjoy going to the meets but I dont want to have to check the many notifications I get just to find out it was irrelevant to the thread.

for the LAAVA group, can we just make a dedicated thread for the SOLE purpose of listing events and meets or at the very least create an email news letter so we know when these are going on and when? I had to tun off notification for this thread because it just became too much of a hassle to deal with all the off topic conversations.

And for zaywop

So I ordered the speakers, wires, a similar Center, a screen and a mount - and a 4k UHD player. But In my rush and late night rush order - I ordered PAIRs. Who knew a speaker that was recommended, has an AMT tweeter, looks good enough for a month's use....was ONLY $25. Anyway, not mounted so I can't wax rhapsodic about them yet but they are probably more expensive to send back than give away to charity. I can not use 12. 7.x sure but unless someone can tell me how to hang them from the ceiling for ATMOS - ....... well if you need them and buy me a glass of good wine they are yours. Okay a bottle for all 6.

Later, I have to go find a screw gun and some hooks.

I knew I could not go with you all to see Alita, but I slipped out to see it at the local Cinemax XD 3D. I won't spill anything, but I totally loved it, top to bottom. I'll say more after you all see it.

One of my best friends was the production manager on Alita. I have to go see it.

She was the same on Captain Marvel.

Anyone know what loudspeakers were overhead at the Imax? They looked very similar to Danleys...possibly of Jericho lineage.

Additionally bring content to demo in their theater upgraded with the new Storm Audio processor. Potential dates are listed below. Please post so I get an idea of the interest and potential dates. I would say March 23, 30, April 6th should for the most part work.

Also has anyone from the LAAVA group started an email newsletter yet so we can get email updates on meets and when and where they will take part or what about the proposed website, was anything done with that? has it have a domain yet? so people can be more active instead of having to search through countless post to find out such information?

Since you have posted numerous time about how you are not happy with how this thread works you should be the agent of the changes you wish to see. Feel free to head up the project and let us know once done. Those that prefer your site and format can move there.

The LAAVA domain was created and since expired as no one took advantage of it.
You apparently are the only one that is bothered by the way people posts here (Last addressed on the 5th) Before that on last April. (There is soo much activity on this thread)

I would be happy to but I am not the "leadership" of the "group" and since there is no proper communication or structure in place there is no basis for me to be able to establish such and collect the information needed. Its all just half-assed in this mostly off topic thread instead of creating a sub-thread to hold the side conversations of each event there thus my issue so since there is no real determination to make the group an actual group then I would be happy to take over the domain (which is currently registered) and actually try to establish an actual structured group as what was originally proposed by the person who first created LAAVA.

I first created LAAVA years ago....it went no where. Then years later someone else brought it back up..and about 2 years ago I resetup the domain and a website cover page...once again...nothing happen....I am done with LAAVA..and if you would like to register the domain and set up a website and email list..knock yourself out.
