Looking forward to expanding to 5.2.4.

IMO, the Denon X4x00 series has the best value in SSPs over the last few years. I sold my Marantz AV7702mkII after borrowing a X4300H and finding no appreciable differences in SQ.

Ooh! Pick me! Pick me! My theater room has been down for the last 5 months. Been streaming movies in either my or my baby's room listening through the TV speakers. Ugh.

Need to plan for a few major upgrades alongside home improvement projects.

I was considering the X4500 for my bedroom so that I can connect my 4K player and HTPC through it for possible surround/Atmos audio. Currently just getting DD via ARC since my current receiver won't pass 4K/HDR to the TV. Maybe looking at something with DIRAC for the main theater. Need something that can do at least 9.1.4 that doesn't require me selling off my newborn to get it.

Open to anything. Let me know if there's a new release you want to see that don't have and I can pick it up. Hearing good things about the new Aquaman movie in terms of audio and visuals.

I thought I thoroughly compared Logic7, ProLogicII and Neural preferring the later two to Logic7. The issue is that my Logic7 came courtesy of Harman Kardon AVRs which seems to be a very lightweight version of Logic7. Now I've been looking at secondhand MC-4/8/12 units. Are their any sonic benefits to the balanced versions (besides common mode noise rejection)?

I'd love to hear opinions of Logic7 vs ProLogicII for 2ch music playback. How flexible is the Lexicon and its Logic7 parameters?

I have a pair of Mirage OMD-28s in piano black. They extend to 18Hz with room gain. 25Hz without.

6dB more gain.

L7 is more aggressive surround processing at the cost of the occasional artifact. PLIIx is more polite processing and more stable. But you don't have to choose, since Lex processors have both (as well as DTS Neo:6).

On 5.1 sources, L7 is unique because it processes discrete channels. If you're listening to a quad DVD-A, L7 will extract Centre and Rear channels. If you're listening to a 3-channel SACD, L7 will extract Sides and Rears. No other surround processing does that.

There are around a dozen parameters to adjust to personal taste. They also allow you to address a problem different ways. For example: surrounds too distracting? You can lower the surround levels or roll off the highs or move the virtual listener location forward, etc. They'll all make the surrounds less noticeable, but in slightly different ways.
Marc Alexander and cschang like this.

A trial in my room for the pair in fair condition would be great actually. I have a pair of Kavent Gracia towers you could give a listen too if you’d like try out at your place.

Let me know how you would like to proceed.
