If it sells within the next week for what I’m hoping to get, an Anthem AVM 60.

If it doesn’t sell, I’ll hold on to it and see what tickles me down the road.

Thankfully Mr Cameron didn't feel the same about Atmos as he did for Dunkirk...
Steve are you confused? I don't think Cameron had anything to do with Dunkirk. Dunkirk is a Christopher Nolan film. Nolan dislikes any type of surround sound in his films. If he could mix his movies in mono I think he would.

Oh yes..you are 100% correct. I'm confused...lol
I was reading the Forbes report on the movie. What I should've said was it look like this movie will "not" have any back and forth aspect ratio switching like in Dunkirk...

I personally am glad for that.
I like to move the lens in front of the PJ and hit the making button and watch the movie...

DITTO! That back and forth crap doesn’t play well with a 2:35 screen.

How do you like the new Genesis version of ARC..?

I've ran a couple sweeps with it an played with it some but, I'm still using my settings from ARC 2 for now.

I have some upgrades to my speakers happening over this next week so I'm holding off on Genesis till then...
I like the new features tho..

Anybody have any experience with standard Imax vs Imax w/laser? Wanna see Godzilla with the best picture quality possible. Ideally bigger is better, but I don't mind watching it on a smaller screen if the quality is noticeably better.

IMAX laser is higher dynamic range and brighter picture (22 footlamberts) than standard IMAX (14 footlamberts), though not as bright as the Dolby Cinema spec (30 footlamberts). Also, IMAX theatres that convert to laser illuminated projection also get their 12-track (7+5) immersive audio system. So IMAX w/laser is a video AND audio upgrade compared to standard IMAX. The one at the AMC Burbank is spectacular, especially for 3D.

Thanks Sanjay, that's good to know. In absolute a/v quality, how does the AMC Burbank Imax stack up against TCL Chinese Theater Imax?

Same picture quality, though bigger screen at the TCL. Better sound (acoustics) in Burbank. The TCL Chinese is a historical landmark, so they can't update the interior with modern acoustical treatments, which means there is audible reverb (though mostly noticeable in quiet, dialogue driven scenes). The seating in the TCL is the old stuff, while Burbank has updated to modern (fat boy friendly) recliners.

I really dig it. It came out a few days after I got the unit so I can’t compare it to the older version I found it super easy to run and the results are fantastic.

Funny, my group of friends 10 years ago decided the same thing with the Chinese and Cinerama Dome.

Any details yet?

I've been busy (and tired) but there's a light at the end of the tunnel and 6/8 might be good for me (after all this time)!
