Hi Guys,

Good to see alot of familiar names in the group. I have been out of the home theater since my divorce about 8 years. Looking to upgrade my Integra DHC 9.9 that John helped me buy along time ago.

Any suggestions on an upgrade that can give me the 4k video and output for 2 subs?

Thanks

Mike, recent Denon/Marantz units would fit your bill, since they have the latest HDMI and will calibrate 2 subs intelligently.

How many speakers total are you planning on connecting: 7, 9, 11, 13? Are you looking for a receiver or pre-pro?

Hi Sanjay,

Was going to keep it simple as a 7.2 set up. My basement is cement walls and new wife is not a huge fan of seeing wires.

Since I still have my SimAudio 7 channel amp, would only need a pre/pro. I didn't see a Denon that was just a pre/pro. Looks like the Marantz is what I need. My Integra has held up well, sorry to see they haven't kept up with the times.

Thanks very much for the feedback. After that I need to get some subs for my room.

Looking forward to seeing you guys next year.

Mike, hard to find a 7.2 pre-pro these days. Even the lowest model Marantz processor is 11.2 channels. But it is reasonably priced, making it a terrific value when it comes to sound quality. What is your room size? Are you still going to be using your Dynaudio speakers?

Sanjay,

My basement is about 15x20 with cement walls. I still have my Dynaudio speakers, as they sound good to my old ears. Still need to pick up a couple subs, as I sold my SVS a couple years ago. Sounds like the Rythmik FV25
HP is getting a lot of good reviews.

I'm ass-uming the 15' dimension is the room width. Those cement walls don't flex, so you're going to get some peaks & nulls across the seating area. Audyssey can bring down the peaks but you'll have to use placement to address the nulls.

@AnthemAVM

on the matter of subs, that room, placement, a need for multiples and so forth

in the classifieds, @kevings ,
just off the 57
has 3 full sized Marty subs and a coffee table sub for sale,
as he's had them on sale for about a year now may be worth investigation
We build those Marty's (ported sub) -they're rather solid, I might add

he reminded me a few weeks ago but I just don't have the space given the subs I already have
he'd really like to see them go to a good home . . .
