No, been too busy to put a final coat of paint on. Think I might also put a coat or two of poly on to protect the paint a little better.

The only dates that are out for me are Jan 22nd-23rd. Wannagofast event in Ocala. I was able to attend the Ferrari Finali Mandiali in Daytona last weekend. It was amazing. Otside of that weekend it looks like I am free right now.

I totally missed that it was for this month. December is out for me. we have a ton of family activities, including this Saturday. Literally right in the middle of that time slot.

question..what is the normal time length that a GTG should last??....4 hours seems like a long time, but it just flew by..told my wife next one will need to be a little longer..im sure after the holidays, time constraints will be a little better..

so William...did you order the speakers yet? we are ready to build...

cant wait for the next one at @grnwnv ..if the volts sounded as good as they did..I bet the 1099's sound amazing.

Well, as you saw, a lot of the time is spent setting up and getting organized. Depending on what we're trying to do, that could be an hour or two, easy.

Some time could be saved if we figured out stuff ahead of time. Like what we're doing, in what order, what test tracks we're going to play, etc.

But we might want to budget 4-6 hours fr the next one. It will probably include more speakers and video as well.

I'm not familiar with RSL Speakers. The specs look good though.

But, if you're going to hang on to your Bics for a tad longer, I'd try to find the matching in-ceiling models. Should be similar in price. And you would get timbre matched all around plus above.

I just saw a thread that they're on sale on Amazon. See if you can get a price match or return and buy there.

I sure did. I should be here tomorrow. I just couldn't pass up the price. I haven't had a minute to do anything with the cabinets. Still in sheets in the bedroom. Our 3rd son has changed the dynamic in the house quite a bit. He is a beast though. 16lbs 3oz at 2 months old. We have our family Christmas party this Sat. 40 or so people in our home. Although they are all family, there is a ton to do for that. You get the idea. I will have an opportunity to work for a few hours Thursday or Friday. Hoping to finally get the bracing cut and begin assembly. I also need to sit down and visit the issue of wire management and get my connectors and cables ordered. I really want it to not be a rats nest. like it normally is.

As an aside, I am going to look into borrowing an enclosed trailer for the GTG so I can bring the subs. No guarantees, but I am trying. I may just rent one too.

Kale Salads and Cherry Cokes FTW! Cuz Cherry is a fruit... and that's healthy right?

we will have to check with grnwnv to see how easy it is for him to swap equipment in and out or if its possible to audition other equipment.

you subs sound like they are gonna be amazing..I think matt really wants to hear your mains..

I think at the GTG at my house, we determined DIY was the way to go. The Volt 10's Matt had definitely shined.

16 pounds at 2 months..wow..he is a beast..feeding that man whey protein or something? I would imagine the holidays are a hard time to get subs built..but hopefully it will slow down after the holidays. I saw you posting about cables..i tried to keep mine simple since im a simpleton..I just got one of the speakon wires and cut one end of it off and just ran the bare wire to regular speaker terminals to the back of my DIY subs...so far so good.

The mains are coming for sure. I run them as tv/movies more than anything and the tuning reflects that. I can easily make conversation very difficult with just AVR power. I can't imagine what they will do with a dedicated amp. We can make it happen for Matt.

He was 10lb 6oz at birth. We grow them big around here.

I will most likely do something very similar with the wiring. It will all be behind these huge enclosures anyway. The iNuke will be in the adjacent room so I don't have to bother with the blinding lights and fan noise. That will save me a ton of cash as I won't have to buy all new wire and a bunch of connectors. I don't know. I keep going back and forth on a solution.
