Can't help but suspect the main SMPS (sits on top of the main board shell), as it can cause those symptoms, and the SMPS caps are known to be problematic in old sets like these. Just sayin". But you have a whole 'nother set to get replacement modules from. But I'd swap the main SMPS first, before the main cpu board, just to see if it cures the issue.

Thank you so much for your time & effort, and for finding a new chip at a fair price. I'm so looking forward to refurbishing my refurbished Samsung 67 and for being able to use the parts I have.

One final thought: Can you rebuild the motor in my Honda CT-110 Trail bike? Sharon.

If it was MY bike, I'd give it a shot, but small engines are not my specialty .

Backlight/buzzing issue

Hi all,
I have a 61A750 I bought back in 2008 that recently developed the white/black dot issue. I replaced the DLP chip which resolved it, but I am having a strange problem that did not exist before, which is that I can't change the LED control or color temperature settings.

I am able to cycle through each setting, it's just that there is no difference to any of them. It is acting as if LED control is stuck on max/auto, because everything is overly bright and I can see it adjusting the backlight by itself. Also, color temperatures don't seem to have any difference when I cycle through them. The picture is similar to the 'normal' temperature setting no matter which I pick. (meaning Cool and Warm should look very different, but look the same). I tried all this on both the movie and standard modes.

It is also making a buzzing sound, which happened before if dynamic mode was selected but was fine on standard or movie. Now it's doing so on all 3 modes. I am curious if both of these things are related.

Thanks for any ideas

Edit: I also tried resetting picture settings and a factory reset through the service menu

Make sure all the cables to the DMD board are seated correctly. That would be from CPU board and the LED driver board.

I emailed the seller that I got the chip from and they said the same, but unfortunately that hasn't resolved it..I can confirm all cables are secure. I even tried swapping it back and forth with the original chip a few times, and in each case the original one works fine, and only the new one exhibits these problems. The new one is a 6145W and the old is 6143W, although the seller said that shouldn't matter.

Maybe it shouldn't matter, but it definitely seems to make a difference. I recommend getting an original p/n 6143W for the replacement.
