Well today for the very first time I spotted what looks like a dead pixel in the middle of the screen on my WD-73738. Can anything be done about this? Anyway it might mysteriously go away?

No, the mirror chip is going bad, it will only get worse. Luckily it’s not to hard to fix your self and the part is inexpensive.

Yes, I see a DLP Chip / DMD IC goes for $249 on Amazon. Is that what you are talking about? After looking at various Youtube videos, I do believe I can do it myself. Do you recommend using Arctic Silver in the process?
