I recently just bought the Sony 55E2000 TV this past weekend and I will be receiving this tv next saturday but I am wondering what exactly do I need for accessory wise? What cables will I need? Hopefully I will be getting HDTV hooked up, so Id assume I need a HDMI cable. What brand would be the best? Also do I need a surge protector? What exactly do I need?

Hooked up to the TV will be a; directtv Tivo Setup, Dvd player, and possibly a PS2, so what do I need to hook up everything? I have all my old R/W/Y cables, is that sufficent enough? Or should I upgrade all the cables?

Help me out Please

Sorry if this isnt the correct forum, but seeing as there alot of Sony E2000 series people in here I thought I might get the best response.

Thanks

get your hdmi cables @ monoprice.com and for ps2 component cables would work best. Don't expect to much of the ps2 because it was not meant for highdef, you would need a xbox 360 or a PS3 to get the most out of your hd tv.
Enjoy your new tv:)

My folks have the 46" so I can help you out.

Couple questions - is your Direct TV box high definition? Is it a progressive scan or up-scaling dvd player?

Right of the bat I would say get the component cables for your PSII. Even though there are just about no HD games for PSII the component (Red,Green,Blue) cable will improve the picture. Pick up Gran Turismo, that is 1080i.

Are you running all the audio though the TV speakers?
