just bought the projector from newegg. They had such a great price i had to pull the trigger.I am upgrading from hc4000 to a 84in and 103in 2:35:1 screens.the hc 4000 has been such a great projector that i hate to get rid of but i wanted 3d and hopefully better blacks for that great pop a dlp gives.

Waiting for your input on HC7900!

Also waiting for a review, most likely I will be getting the Hc 7900dw but there are a few other good options in this price range. Im coming from a HC3800 so i'm super excited to hear the differennces between the Hc 4000 and the HC 7900

I'd be very interested in the observation... coming from a plasma I'd rank sharpness and black levels most important and in that order... I'm considering my two options to be this 7900DW or the Sonly 30es due to their 3D capabilities and price range...

Let us know Orlando... hope you're enjoying the view wink.gif

Just a little update on the projector. After having the mits 4000u for 1 year i was hesitant on upgrading .I thought of try all new lcd or lycos projector but was worried on convergence and sharpness.Well worry no more because this projector is very sharp and easier to setup due to vertical lense shift.I thought white was wrong for color of the projector but it turns out i like it more because it blends well with ceiling.I need to fiddle with controls and hook up 3d emitter this weekend and give a better overview but so far playing with it for one day it definately way and beyond the hc4000u.if theres anything you want me to check out just ask

Thanks for the update, I'd be very interested in your opinion one you configure and play with it a bit in both 2D & 3D... I'm also looking at LCD and lycos but worried about sharpness. From what I'm told, it's really not the same advantage anymore due to filters and software enhancements.... But Art and others still say "DLP has that something else, a pop to the picture"...

(that at least should be a distinguishing feature of a good DLP projector)."

I got to play around with 3d.I am using xpand 104 glasses.I viewed about a half hour so far and there is no ghosting or cross talk its just a smooth 3d picture. The 2d conversion works great.I tried letting oppo bluray player doing conversion and i the mits did alot better job of making you believe that its 3d.I am running 84in 1:78:1 and a 103 2:35:1 screens and its plenty bright.

Glad to hear you like it... How's the 2D &3D image compare in sharpness and black level?

Orlando,
Tell me about your experience with Mit 7900dw. I bought one from Projector People recently. Are you seeing any issues with non-1080p signals. Im running HDMI from a Direct TV HD box (HR20) and am noticing issues with motion. I came from a HC3800 that did not experience those issues.

Also, do you have access to the advanced menu: cw speed, frame rate conversion, or FRC level on non-1080 p signals? Im noticing a lot of issue with this lately.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. Did you ever figure out a solution to this?

Speedthrill04 09-04-2014 06:05 PM
