I've been happy with the HS51 I bought new many years ago but with the blue smear now is very noticeable, it's time to replace her. Haven't been in the market so I don't really know how the HS51 compares to say a new $1000 Benq 1070 I keep reading so much about. I know the 51 was 720 verses 1080, but what about blacks, PQ and others. Is the 1070 going to blow it away. What I'm after is a good projector for a dedicated theater. Screen is 110 SilverStar. Watch mostly HD DTV, 2D movies. No games or 3D really needed but might be nice to investigate. If I could spend as little as the $1000 on the 1070 and have a superior look, thats the way I would go. Or others? Suggestions. thanks guys

Things have come a long way and that is using old Sony LCD panels.

I would bet the blacks are better a d the scene contrast is probably significantly better.
