I'm looking at getting the 5020UB and I can't find anywhere locally or online that will ship it in Canada other than eastporters.ca. But on the Epson website there's a warning about buying from eastporters because they sell from different regions leaving the customers without a warranty. I'm wondering if anyone here has bought from them and if they've had any warranty issues with Epson as a result. Or if there are any other issues with eastporters in general.

Thanks.

I've dealt with Eastporters for screens, and they're great to deal with. That being said, I believe all of their projectors are grey market. In their early days, they used to offer an additional cost 'insurance' policy to cover shipping back to Asia.

Quebec Acoustics, http://quebecacoustic.com/Epson_PowerLite_Home_Cinema_5020_projector_Montreal_Canada.html , sells Epson online and is an authorized dealer. I've not bought a projector from them, but I have spoken to the owner, Richard, several times and he's a great guy. There are all kinds of glowing reviews about his customer service and price here.

I'm not sure where you're located, but http://spectreaudio.com/ is an authorized Epson dealer in Toronto. Najeeb is a member here, and a great guy too. I've purchased a number of projectors from him over the years and always have been happy with the price and transaction. I'm not sure if he ships, but you could check. I'd recommend calling rather than e.mailing him. He's rather quick at returning calls, but rather negligent of e.mail.

Hope this helps,

Jonathan

I understand from Eastporters that they have been an authorized Epson dealer since May 2013.
