Is there any way to turn on this PJ without an IR remote (harmony ultimate is rf only?) or trying to find a way to get one of the ir blasters out into the room (rack is in another room)? Pj doesn't take a direct ir connector like some do.

Would this do the job? http://www.adorama.com/IES3DIR.html?gclid=CN_Nws33mbkCFctAMgoddl8AJQ

It IS IR but extends the range.

That is only to extend 3d glasses use. Thank you for showing interest though.

wow, that sucks. i'm surprised they wouldn't include the IR blaster on the remote itself, that seems like a MAJOR oversight considering like 80% of all electronics still require IR commands. I get the idea of having your 'ugly' gear tucked away, and the blaster can be tucked away with them, but they how do you operate your display? how many TV's use RF/Bluetooth controls?

the info on Logitech's page says it comes with 2 IR blasters, do you have 2? can you leave one in the room? is there a way you can order and connect a 3rd if needed?

Did you pull Cat-5 to the projector?

If you did, then extend the IR emitter from the RF receiver to the projector and put it right on the IR receiver on the front of the projector. This is the industry standard way to ensure high level IR control reliability.

But - I have yet to see a Harmony remote that includes RF that doesn't also have an IR blaster within the remote, and by the Logitech website FAQs it appears this is still the case (though it could be wrong)....

http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/42112/section/troubleshoot/crid/410/lt_product_id/10738/tabs/1,3,2,4,5/cl/us,en

It says that devices can be controlled by the Hub, the Mini-Blaster port, or by the Remote. So, it looks like this product is consistent with other Logitech products in this regard and you won't actually need to extend the IR at all unless you want to add a higher level of remote control reliability.
