I have a chance to buy the Vivitek D950HD for under $600 however I'm new to projectors and I'm concerned about the throw distance. I've been to the throw distance calculator on projector central but I need it explained to me in basic terms.

Basically, I have a room 22 x16. I am wanting to put my projector mount in the back of the room roughly 18 feet from where I plan on putting my screen. My screen (motorized) will cover 2 60" tvs already mounted. Will the mounted distance cover a 120in or bigger screen, sufficiently?

Also there is a ceiling mounted dome light that hangs about 6inch, will that need to be removed?

I really wanted a bargain 3d (the Acer 6510BD) projector but this deal is too good to pass up.

The projector will do a 120" diagonal from 14 feet to 16 feet 9 inches. From 18 feet you will get a 76"x135" image (155 inch diagonal) with the zoom of that projector.

use www projector people dot com and "Projector Calculator" on the right side.
