What is your take on every reviewer's comments that MITSUBISHI HC7900DW is very "dim" compared to other modern projectors? If I were to consider it for use with my 120" 1.2gain screen in light controlled room, what would be your advice? I don't like blindingly bright picture but still I would not want it to be such that I find it starving for more light. Any and all comments would be appreciated.

THANKS!

I recently bought this projector to replace a nearly 10-year old InFocus 7205. With a new lamp, the HC7900DW is considerably brighter than the 7205 with over 1500 hours on its lamp. My home theater has white walls and ceiling (dark gray screen wall) and has complete light control. This projector is more than bright enough for 2D viewing, but then I'm not into 3D and don't need or want 50+ ft-lamberts of brightness.

I wouldn't say dim. I use it fine with lights on. but I use an 85" area not 120
