Its probably overheating because of something physical to do with the way its currently setup.

You might want to check the end of the manual to see if the lights on the top panel are used to indicate any issues so if and when it happens again, you can know for sure.

Be warned though: If you continue to use it in its current state, you are putting a lot of stress on the internal components which will shorten the pj's life.

A fan?

You shouldn't have to do that
Did you call support?
That doesn't seem right

Do you have a signal going to the PJ? Some menu items aren't adjustable util it has an input.

IIRC during my research on this model last year, I believe that option is only available during 1080p/24 playback.

A restriction [whether similar or not] also applies to the 2D-3D conversion.

You might want to, uh, RTFM wink.gif

I ended up cancelling my HC7900DW order from B&H and bought an HC5 instead. Haven't experienced it yet but from the reviews and other feedback, it should be a decent jump from HC7900--although HC7900 is not bad at all in its own right.
The 3D emitter that I bought for HC7900 will apparently work with HC5 as well so I kept that as I had gotten a really price on that one.

Enjoy your HC7900DW!!!!

if anyone is interested in buying and having BOA card, use it they have 15% returns; so price drops to around ~$800 (999-50-50-15%)
