I have an Epson 3010 projector - it's been great so far! A couple months ago, I noticed that when I start it up there's a blue glow in the lower right hand corner. After a few minutes (no more than 5 or so), the glow dissipates. Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it? I've had it for almost 3 years so it's out of warranty.

I've got the exact same thing on my Epson 3010 in the lower right corner when I power on the projector, and it goes away after a few minutes.

I've had the projector since 11/2011 and it's got just over 1400 hours on it.

+1. I have the same issue. I noticed it about a month ago. Since it goes away after some time, didn't pay much attention to it.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one with the issue. I just emailed Epson support about this issue, I'll see what they come back with response wise and update here.

This is the response I got from Epson:
Quote:
It is not uncommon to see discoloration in the image when the projector is warming up. The most common is a greenish hue that can appear when the projector first powers up and goes away after the unit has warmed up. What you are describing would have more to do with the optical engine and not the lamp. The lamp is only the light source and is primarily responsible for brightness. It does not produce actual colors or images.

Richard M.

Pixelens have you solve your problem, I have an epson 3010 since year 2012 whit 3500hs with the exact same problem.
I try every thing that I found on avsforum. After four times that I disarm and arm all the projector, I cleaned every lens; I cleaned and check all three polarizers that look fine, they don't have any scratch or sign of wear; I check the lenses on the autoiris and the one that is closer to the lamp lower a little bit. But my problem still like at the beginning.
Even on the second try, red and green lcds panels stop working. But luckily they worked again, I'm not sure how.

If you have any success or recommendation, I would be grateful.

Unfortunately no, I never did take it in - just been living with it. Instead of blue in the lower corner now though it's more greenish up the entire right-hand side which mostly disappears after it heats up but there's still a bit in the corners.

Sorry to bump an old thread but thought i'd mention i'm having the same issue on my Epson TW-5300.
Have just replaced the bulb and problem still persists.
When I turn the projector on, the blue hue takes up about 1:8 of the screen (bottom left) and then fades away to about 1:32.
Super annoying!!
