I own a Panasonic PT-AE2000 and the bulb needs replacing. I have the opportunity of buying a brand new PT-AE4000 bulb for a giveaway price! Would it work in the AE2000?

No. The Panasonic projector models from the 1000 to 3000 models used the same lamp but the 4000 is different and not compatible.
