Moving into new house and decided to take the route of a projector instead of TV not everyone in the family agrees but ill show them.

The room is a living room and has little bit of light but not much. But I'm looking on the lines of like a alternative to a black diamond

Here is my current plan

-Optoma HD25-LV

-Elite Screens Cinegrey 5d 100"

Im just wondering is there a way to put the projector on the cabinet instead of mounting it on the ceiling.

Any help and suggestions appreciated

Not unless you also get a different projector with lens-shift, but these also cost quite a bit more.

The only way to do that with this projector is to place it on the proper height table in front of the viewing area. Nothing wrong with doing that if you can make it work in your room. I set mine up and took it down every night for over 3 year using a small accent table that sat over to the side of the room when not in use, the projector sat top of another cabinet to keep it safe when not in use. The HDMI cable and power cord was looped under the couch and pulled out for use. A small rug was tossed over the cables when in use. The only draw back to the up and down setup was I wore out the HDMI port and had to replace it. Depending on the screen height and distance a coffe table sometimes is just the proper height to leave the projector setup permanently.
It all depends on your room layout and what you are willing to live with.

Also is there any budget ambient light screens that are better than the Cinegrey 5D?
