Hello everyone here is a Photo of what i am trying to achieve down in my basement, all measurements are included in the photo. I already purchased the Elite screen 100" rigid frame for the setup. I am looking for a good projector for this setup something crisp that does 1080P. I am not really interested in the 3d if it comes with it that fine. I was checking out the Epson 5030UB that really looked great, but i don't want to drop 2500 on a projector. I am looking for something comparable to that projector but maybe from the 700 to 1500 range. Any suggestions would be great i appreciate the time to look this over! If you see any issues with the setup please let me know also....

If your not willing to paint the room a darker color, including the floor and ceiling don't waste your money on a high contrast projector like the 5030ub. If your ceiling is high enough (over 8') and your darken the room the Mitts 7900 would be a great projector. The room as it is you should not consider a home theater projector but something more like the Benq 1070 or the optoma HD25LV for brighter light to overcome all the reflected light from the white surfaces.

room is going to be painted with a pastel mint color so it will be darkened up just waiting to paint because i need to run the power wire and HDMI from the front of the room to the ceiling mounted projector. I have about 92 inches from floor to ceiling.

Not really the Dark Color Pallet that we use for HT.

Your ceiling is too low for the Mitts 7900 and any pastel color won't darken the room enough to help with contrast. I you want to use the room for other things then I understand the pastel color but a dark maroon, chocolate brown or midnight blue would work wonders for picture quality for any projector. I would still recommend a brighter Media room projector.

Chevy, take a read here, it is a short thread and and follow the links provided. Ceiling, wall and floor color (at least the first 5' from the screen) is really really important if you want success.

Gun metal gray would be a good compromise (that's what I used for my ceiling). Just make sure you use flat paint not semi gloss or gloss.

Did you use the same color for the ceiling and walls I would like to do the ceiling gun metal grey then do a shade lighter on the walls getting rid of the center light and adding 4 scones 2 on each side of the wall on a dimmer the beige carpet is staying with the optima hd25 Lv I think I will be fine with the extra brightness.. Anyone else think so?

Since I will be painting the room darker and adding black curtains in between the first 2 pillars and getting rid of the center light should I go with the w1070 vs the brighter optima I wouldn't mind taking advantage of the 6x color wheel if the 1070 any opinions? Plus 200 cheaper is also appealing

Now that your headed in the right direction for room treatment the HD25LV would not be needed. The 1070 or the HD131XE both have good plusses and minuses for about the same price.

Ok so mounting this projector I currently have the screen 9" from the top of the screen to the ceiling with this gap be enough for my ceiling mount projector such as the hd131x or the 1070? I am not too aware of any mounts for projectors sorry for the questions but all help is much appreciated just want to do it right once.

I believe the HD131xe has about a 8" offset so the lens would have to be 8" above the top of screen, hard to do for a 9" drop. The 1070 has a little bit of lens shift so it can be about 1" above the screen. Throw range is also different for each projector so check out the projector calculator for exact measurements.

OK so i went to Homedepot and got some paint flat dark blue for the ceiling and flat dark grey for the walls. I am afraid after bringing this down to the basement it is too dark. I will post the picture of the swatch in a bit.
