I'm one who would steer you towards LCoS if the space you intend to use is good.
Understand that light control doesn't mean you can turn lights out. That's every room of your home. Light control means you are controlling the light. Dark walls, ceiling, and carpet. If you have such a space, then the AE8000 is the far better choice. But, as I warned... I would recommend the JVC RS46 as that's a better choice still and is around $2,600, well worth the price in a good room.
The AR100 (or Epson 8350/8345) are great models when you need a good zoom range and lens shift with no 3D and may need to hit a large screen size or use it in a non-light controlled space.
