there is no guarantee the VIP Theater will work, I would just get the Korean version if 3D is a must.

Or rather the EU version if you cannot read Korean.

I've never had a projector and it'll be in my bedroom. Only reason 3d is a must is because it's gotta be friggin' amazing to see on a 100 inch bedroom screen lol. and I feel like omitting 3D is a step backwards (just like vizio).

I tried to visit the lg kr site to see if there were big differences - anyone know of significant difference in specs besides 3D? I saw some references earlier to no ethernet and stuff but wasnt sure if that is official specs

@ redzoneos : If it has the same specs like the EU version the differences are : VGA, no TV tuner, only 1 USB, no LAN, no magic remote, no smart functions, 3D.

Zombie,

Some of us are still waiting for your calibration work. You said you had done some sucessful work with the grayscale but had yet to tackle the color. How about giving us what you have done. The colors don't look all that bad to me but I think the grayscale could use some help on mine.

OH wow. that's a lot to think about... I can live with most of that I think since the projector will only be connected to a ps4 and htpc/android box/receiver but....I dunno. Grr

I've posted this information before, but let me repeat here: The Korean model, which I own, includes the same features as the US model, but also has 3D. Nothing is omitted. One more time, the Korean model has 1080p, 3D dlp support, 2 usb ports, 2 hdmi ports, an ethernet port, optical/toslink out, component, audio port, bluetooth, wifi support, an antenna port/TV tuner, all the smart TV functions, and the magic remote. This does NOT have a VGA port. Is the EU version even released yet? I thought it was coming out after this weekend. I think waiting to compare regional differences until they are all released, instead of spreading misinformation is a wise idea.

Thanks lowfatyougurt. I am thinking of buying the Korean model for use here in the U.S. Can you tell me whether the included power adapter supports 120 volts of an American power socket? If so, then all I would need is a plug adapter. If not, do you have any suggestions/what are you using?

How much are you seeing the Korean version for? In the US, I only see these as being available on ebay with the cheapest @ $1600 which is $700 more than Macmall is selling the US version for.

If we could get the Korean version for the same price that would be great but I can't see paying nearly double to add 3D.

Regarding that antenna port ... Are you in USA? Is the tuner ATSC - and compatible with USA broadcast channels?

Inquiring minds

Converted from Korean Won to US dollars, about $1,300 from the LG store, $1,200 from 3rd party sellers. (Both in Korea) I haven't found any sellers that will ship internationally from Korea. The box it comes in is not too big or heavy, about the size of a shoe box, or maybe a box for boots? I'd guess shipping it through the local delivery service to the US would be about $40, but then you'd have to find someone to buy it here, then ship it to you discreetly, since you'd have to pay customs to the US. Up to you if the 3D is that important. I'd suggest waiting a bit to see if someone will disassemble the US model to see if it has the 3D hardware built in and is just disabled through firmware. Maybe there will be a workaround.

My brother bought the LG PF1500 from Seoul, Korea. It has 3D and it does allow you to have an english menu. I only saw 1 x hdmi port at the back on the projector. The LAN connection and USB ports are on the side of the projector.

Throws up quite a good image (110" 16:9 seems fine in a totally light controlled room) but it will need proper calibration which it can do with CMS option in the menu.

We had it running next to a very old epson TW2000 (500 hour lamp) and the LED was definitely brighter and more pleasing to the eye. Black levels was very comparable by eye.

Cost from the shop was around $1400 USD.

I suggest that those interested in 3D wait a few weeks to see if it available on the European model which will be available very soon.

Why?

What's wrong with a perfect 3D Picture, flickerfree with 144Hz, ghostingfree because of DLP, and decent glasses that perfectly block the red flash for 13$/piece.???

I know I am only moderately interested in the 3D aspect of it. It would be nice to know if it can be fixed using a firmware hack on the US version.

Anyone know a good European site that is selling it right now with the 3D already set up?

Only if you are in good stead with the current leadership!

They probably went with the U.S. system for it's selection of porn!

It supports 100-240volts. You'd just need a plug adapter.

None yet, but I plan to purchase it at Saturn. Hopefully they won't bump the price as the USD/EUR exchange rate has not been nice in the last weeks.

I believe South Korean stuff is banned from North Korea anyway. They have to wait for a Chinese knock off.

I was in Germany two weeks ago and visited the Saturn store in Cologne and they had no
additional information when it will be available. They were also not positive if it is really 3D ready since one spec said that it was and the other did not. Will have to wait and see when it is released very soon.

Thank you Mr/ms yogurt. Been following this entire 90+page thread pretty closely but may have missed your previous lost. This makes me feel very good about pulling the trigger on the Korean version depending on what eu version comes out with.

Again, sorry if I missed it but: where did you order from? any significant language related issues or future updates? is 3D as awesome as I'm hoping it will be?

Thank you so much for reposting!!!
