Powerlite 3010 (H421A) Temp and Lamp lights flash red

When I turn the unit on it appears to start to warm up and then the lamp and temp lights both start flashing red and it shuts down. Epson says that error requires a factory repair. I'm hoping someone here can guide me to the problem so I can possibly repair it. It's tough because I don't know exactly what is failing due to the information provided by EPSON. Thanks in advance.

Error codes in the manual, did you think to look in there?

First thing I did. Manual tells you nothing about that particular code other than to send it in to them to be repaired. I was hoping someone could clarify as to exactly what that particular error code points to. I'm guessing the main board, however, that's not a cheap part so I don't want to buy and hope.

You can start buying replacement parts off eBay and trying them one by one. I'd start with a ballast. This could get expensive FYI.

Check out the manual. There is a troubleshooting section and it shows different error codes, how they look and what they represent.

Just an example, if a fan does not spin at a specific RPM, it will throw a code.
