I was afraid someone would say that. I'm going to try and find a way to test with a different/shorter cable, going to be pain though.

When I had the UHD60 I went through a few cables before I found one that worked, so you might try to buy 2 or 3 from Amazon, then test and return the ones that don’t work out.

Thanks. I had a real brilliant moment when I went to test some things and realized that I hadn't even considered the HDMI from the PS4 to the receiver, which wasn't HDMI 2.0. That makes me wonder how I was getting 4k at all, but regardless I replaced that.

I then tested the 50' directly from the ps4 and got no signal at all when using HDMI2. In HDMI1 I got a basic 1080 signal. I found this odd since I at least got a 4k signal when it was hooked through the receiver. But I pulled out the ps4 and hooked it up under the projector using the cable that came with the projector, and it immediately gave me 4K HDR, so while I'm still very confused on exactly what is going on, it seems there's definitely an issue with the cable.

Welcome to the world of high end audio and video. It can be daunting and confusing, but just keep researching and testing and you will figure it out. It sounds like you have decent troubleshooting skills so you will solve it eventually.

What is the distance from your receiver to your projector? If it’s under 25 feet, you can avoid having to deal with fiber/active type of cables.
Is your receiver capable of passing 4K HDR signals? If not, you may need to consider a new receiver.

Warranty question: I sent over my projector 2 weeks ago, supposed to have received in CA last Monday. No update from Support team on what's the current status .
Does anyone know what is the normal turnaround for it ?

BTW : the light started flickering on bright areas and different parts of the screen. Lamp life at 900hrs approx.

Thanks

Hey guys -

I picked up a UHD65 about a year ago and started having issues with it today. Half of the screen is flashing bands of artifacts, but the issue seems to come and go. I've gone through all the troubleshooting I can think of to solve the problem. I purchased it from B&H and also bought a squaretrade warranty with it... Anyone have experience with Optoma warranty service quality, or should I just go straight to Sqaretrade instead?

Appreciate any insight

Dealing with Optoma Warranty is good to start off. as long as you are under warranty they will open a case and work with you.
In my experience they were good at 1st and slowed down. Its been over a week since they received my projector , i have not received any update.
This is bad experience considering Epson does 2nd day replacement .

How does the projector works in ambient light? I am planning to have the projector in living room along with ALR screen.

I am comparing this projector with Epson 4010

It also takes the project a very long time on boot up to find a signal from any source.
I had this problem when i first set up my UHD65 with Denon 4300h, Xbox, and Chromecast Ultra. The signal would drop every few minutes or so and sometimes never come back. I tried everything. 5 different cables, several different sources. The second I unplugged the Chromecast Ultra everything was fine. Plugged it back in and the xbox would still drop signal.

When i stream amz 4k video grand tour and today with disney+, 4k hdr, the video has a funny grain in dark scenes lots of on off sparkles like square dust that ruins watching the video. Is there a setting i can adjust? I can watch 4k uhd movies just fine with or without hdr and have never seen this artifact only on the aforementioned streams. Thanks!

Setting up Shield Pro

What I the max resolution and bit that the UHD60 supports? Shield has 73 different options. To me 3840X2160 60hz YUV 420 8-bit Rec. 709 looks the best but hard to tell. Just want to work off the max setting for the projector
