I am using Mediabridge 91-02X-35B Ultra Series HDMI Cable - 35-Feet.

Do you think the above cable will not work with X800??

Not sure, there are hundreds of choices out there. I went with a cable i know worked for others. It wasnt a cheap option but i had to bury it in ceiling so i went one avail from Amazon fiber optic hdmi. I do know that ones that say uhd 4K over 25 feet copper cables are hit or miss.

Hi vagos1103gr1,

In my case - (Yamaha CX-A5100) i got the official statement from Yamaha. The max. length for RGB 4:4:4 / 12bit / HDR / 4k60 18gbps Signal transfer is max. 7.5m.

No other copper cable with length >7.5m will work so i invest to a 15m optic cable witch works perfect with my CX-A5100 / UHD65 now.

Brand RUIPRO 50ft --> CLICK

I tried many brands and many repeaters or HDMI booster - all with out access.

Almost any copper cable over 25 feet most likely will not work. You will need a fiber cable.

I use the same cable for 25 ft and in nvidia shield I don’t have the option of 4k60 444 chroma 12 bit. The maximum I can get is 422 12 bit Bt 2020 with some artifacts on several scenes and I have to return to recommended 4k60 420 10 bit bt2020. I am wondering if I go with the fiber is gonna give me that option. I am waiting the Xbox one x to see if Gonna give me 4k60 444 12 bit.

I am in a country where there are very limited options for projectors so I can not demo the uhd60, so I ask has anyone seen it in comparison to an Epson home cinema 2040 in relation to color accuracy, contrast and skintones. I have the Epson but I want my upgrade to be an upgrade in all areas of picture quality not just resolution.

I might be wrong but current hdmi 2.0a supports up to max 4k60 4:4:4 8bit, anything more will exceed the cable's max bandwidth of 18Gbps

I was just about to post this.

@vagos1103gr1

Link for reference: https://www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/hd...i_2_0_faq.aspx

You'll need to drop below 60Hz in order to get 4:4:4 12 bit.

Edit: Fiber or no fiber, the HDMI 2.0 port on your source device will only output a maximum of 18Gbps, so even if you have a cable capable of carrying a much higher data rate, it's still capped at the bandwidth maximum for that HDMI port standard. Use the link I posted above to see what options you have while staying under the data limit.

The point is on nvidia shield when I drop in to 30 hz I don’t see the option for 444 12 bit. How RoNNy379CH achieved 444 12 bit with his oppo player. Maybe the problem is the hoss 25 ft active hdmi cable from monoprice? Should I invest to fiber optic?

Game Calibration Settings

Hello,

Does anyone have a preferred calibration for gaming on the UHD65? I am using "game mode" and playing with XBOX one X- already looks amazing, just wondering if anyone had any recommended tweaks-
I have not had an issue with LAG either- has not been noticeable to me at all- Thank you

No cable will work, even ones less than 7.5 meters , and neither will the current crop of HDMI sinks, transmitters, etc. It's well past it's spec ratings. See below.

The option doesn't exist yet in the market, so the current xbox won't ever give you that.

He didn't achieve that. As said before that is well beyond specs, as said above and as seen in this chart. He is clearly mistaken.

Thanks Davie for your clarification, so that mean 4k30 444 10 bit can be achieve on uhd65, so why nvidia shield doesnt give me these option when i change to 4k30 ?

I have a question on my screen. I Just set up my UHD65 on a temporary shelf and have the Elite Screens Designer Cut cloth (135" diagonal) hanging temporarily on the wall.

Since I can create any size aspect ratio I was looking at building a 2.39:1 screen. I didn?t see any options under aspect ratio to pick this ratio. Is this aspect ratio screen even an option? I started reading about lens memory which this projector does have and I don?t want an anamorphic lens.

This is my first projector and dedicated home theater and I want to make sure I get it right

Thanks

My UHD65 comes in tomorrow and I will be getting the Xbox One X this week. I went ahead and purchased the 50 ft Ruipro fiber cable. For my short hdmi runs, will any "4K capable" hdmi be sufficient?

Thanks everyone.

Looks like if i want play 4k/UHD content it requires good fiber HDMI cable. But comparing with my current HDMI (Media Bridge) with Fiber (RUIPRO HDMI Fiber Cable), did not noticed much difference in terms of specs (expect [email protected] Hz/data rate)

Any how i will order RUIPRO HDMI Fiber Cable and see the difference.

The UHD65 does not have lens memory and is a 16:9 native projector. Without an A lens or a external processor a 2:39 screen is not advisable as you may need to physically move the projector to get a 16:9 image on a 2:39 screen. If you want the real scoop on 2:39 screens then check out the CIH screen section of this forum.

I just picked up a UHD60 to replace an EPSON 8350 - have a 100" screen. It's about 15 feet back and no problem putting exactly where the old one was. I wanted to test it to compare whether to get an 82" Samsung but this projector is great.
Better than expected. Now it is evening so I haven't tested during the daytime yet. I have a lot of windows that are wide open during the day.

Quite a bit brighter than the Epson and the 4K is great. The HDR is ok - I downloaded some test video and ran it througg an NVIDIA. The 4K is great the only delta from a flat screen is the blacks are going to be better and of course better daytime viewing. The 4K detail is as good as on a flat screen that I saw at Best Buy - just doesn't pop quite as much. But I have 100" and have room to go a bit bigger. If it ok during the day - I will keep it.
