UHD65 and XBOX One X

Folks,

Picked up my Xbox One X last evening. Got it setup. The 1 X auto recognizes the 65 as being 4K but when I switch the rez to 4k the PJ says no source detected. The Xbox then gives me a problem detected and goes back to 1080P. Anyone else have a 1 X yet and have it working with the 65 or 60?

Tom

Is it going through a receiver or anything in between? One of our product managers grabbed a UHD60 to test with his Xbox One X last night and all is going well.

Yup! Problem solved. Was a cabling problem. Swapped out some lines and everything is cool. Looks amazing.

So I have been playing Call of Duty WW2 all night. They have released 4K HDR enhancements for it. I played it in 1080p for a week before doing 4K HDR tonight.

The enhanced 4K HDR looks great and is a significant upgrade over the 1080P version. HDR shines in selected scenes.

What I cannot understand is the concern over lag. I must be nuts but I cannot detect any lag what so ever. None. Nada. There is an instantaneous correspondence between my input with the controller and the display on the screen. I dunno...I keep thinking I must be blind or just dense. This PJ is supposed to be unplayable because of hypothetical lag. I just cant see any.

Anyhow I am thrilled. 4K gaming at 106 inch from my custom leather recliner is pretty much as good as it gets

I’m curious to know what settings you use on your Xbox one x display settings under video fidelity.... color depth and color space?

You won’t notice the lag on a console with controller.

Normal people won’t notice 84ms on a pc. People just like to think they are a pro gamer.

Got the UHD65 up and running last night and played some Gears 4 on the Xbox One X - all I can say is WOW - 4K Gears on 120 inches
I do not notice lag either - I played just fine

I do have a question... when I exit a game back to the dashboard I notice the projector searches for the signal when going back to the dashboard. Are you seeing the same thing?

I would also like to know what display settings you have on your xbox one x

I read a review that stated the dashboard is still 1080p and not 4k. So this may be why the projector has to switch signals.

That's messed up and annoying. I bet they fix in an update.

I am using 10 bit color depth and the recommended default color space.

They won't because the developers asked for that RAM that would have been allocated for the 4k Dash. MS decided to keep it 1080p because of that.

The searching for source is kind of annoying going from a game back into the dashboard - I hope they add a 4K dashboard

They won't. 1080p dashboard gives devs at least 1GB extra memory to play with for games. MS won't prioritize the dashboard over games, it's all on their advertising. They've marketed the X as the most powerful console.

My son plays FM7 on 1X and UHD60 on 100" screen.
It's obvious, but UHD60 out performs my old HD141X in brightness, contrast and color.
Love it!

well 4K on a 106" is equivalent to 1080p on a 50", right?

Yes, of course but you can sit further and still enjoy the clarity of the pictures.
Back in the days, I remember I sit about 25 to 30 ft away and only with 17 inches screen

Xbox one X HDR

Hi Guys,

hooked up my XBOX one X to my Optoma UHD65- I am getting a message that it does not support hDR10 for gaming... Is this true or do I potentially have an HDMI cabling issue? THanks

I think it should be your cable issue. I have 1X and UHD60 and it is fully supported.

Oh!, did not notice you have Yamaha. Make sure you have it set at Mode 1 in advanced settings.
While your receiver in stand by, press MAIN POWER button while holding down STRAIGHT button. Use STRAIGHT button to go thru menus and PROGRAM button to change its values. If you have manual, page 131 shows you how to.
